3 things FIFA should change for the next World Cup

Recommended Posts

I think Scotland should be given a bye. Our team may be crap but a couple of weeks in Brazil for the supporters sounds OK.

Yes I've always wanted to see the statue of Christ. Maybe I'll make it..............

There's another one in Lisbon, Sam. Just be true to yourself and go for the tarts.

Is there really? And a red light district to boot? That's a short plane journey away?

I'm sure the one in Lisbon is much better anyway........ :beer

One MAJOR change I would like to see but will never happen. The 4-yearly world cup be replaced by a 3+ year long league where international team play home and away. 4/5 leagues with promotions and relegations like domestic leagues.

This way true champions will be crowned and not a lot can get away from cheating/unfair play over the long period.

But FIFA wants a month long party to maximise the showcase and off course their coffers.

For the game itself , 4 linesmen with the ref making the major call would be better. Currently its not easy for 3(4) men to oversee 11+the bench full of players.

Video technology has to be introduced. It was dismissed by FIFA previously for fear of disrupting the game but technology has improved to the point where a reply can be on the screen in seconds and they can study cases from Americian Armball and Rugby.

Grahame Poll made a good suggestion yestrday in a 'penalty goal' where a goal in awarded for definate goals like the one Luis Suarez saved against Ghana. FYI , I cant believe Suarex is only banned for one game. I would like him to miss the 3/4th or final. Stupid decisions like these only encourages others to do the same. Cheating is fine with FIFA as long as you win!

Its sad that whatever changes we get for Brazil will only happen if FIFA financially benefits.
