cathay connection question

Recommended Posts

I am flying to BKK from Tokyo via Cathay Airlines. I have one stop in Hong Kong. Can I make a 1-hour connection between two Cathay flights in the Hong Hong airport or should I change the ticket? I will have a small carry-on and 2 bags checked through. I have someone to meet me in BKK but they will not be happy if I miss the connection and I don't have a good way to contact them.

I am looking forward to returning to Amazing Thailand!

TIA!

The Cathay Pacific layover at HKG on the JFK to BKK flight is dead easy. Not the same flight, I know, but, I would not be worried as I don't think Cathay would book the ticket if there where issues.... Hope someone will be able to give you a better answer...

Cathay wouldn't book a connection if it wasn't a legal connection. The minimum connecting time in HKG is 50 minutes on Cathay.Of course, that's assuming you arrive on time.I say go for it.Interline connections run 90 minutes or more.

I did it no problems last Christmas, it did piss me off the two flights were not far apart gate wise but you have to mess around going through all the security shit. It is well signed and even though I had to catch the little train etc I made my flight easy.

As others have said, Cathay wouldn't book it that way if it wasn't possible, if your first flight from Tokyo is late they will bump you onto the next flight at their expense, just means a few calls to people picking you up in BKK but no need to stress.

onelilley.
