Hi Guys I thought I would write a review of where I have stayed over the last 18 months. I normally stay in 3 star hotels and bars, please note that all comments here are mine and I call it how I see it. I stay at the cheaper end of the market as I am happy with a moderate size room, so long as it is clean and air conditioned if there is a pool it is a bonus but the truth is I haven’t used the pool’s anywhere

The Hotels I have booked through Agoda and last year changed my trip plans and cancelled in advance I had no problems with Agoda the refund happened within 48 hours less a 10% cancellation fee

BKK

Manhattan Hotel, Soi 15 Sukhumvit rd, stayed there April 09, July 2010, 1400baht a night

The room was a good size nothing spectacular A/C good bed comfortable, breakfast pretty poor and no Joiner fee. No hot water for the 3 days I was always told fix in 10 mins sir, worst part there were bed bugs or something there when I left I had bite marks all over my lower legs. 15 min walk from Nana BTS, and safe in room

Tried to get a refund from Agoda but problem was I was already there.

I would not recommend this hotel and personally will never stay here again sad thing on my first trip this was a good hotel no problems

Royal Asia, Soi 8 Sukhumvit rd, stayed there October 09, April 09 and March 2010, 1100baht a night

Value for money moderate sized room with a tiny pool on the roof an older style say 80’s and get a room at the back (quieter) breakfast pretty good buffet style and no joiner fee comfortable bed.

A/C okay on one occasion it broke and they moved me no problem hot water so so water pressure okay. it didn’t bother me but it is about 600m down the soi from the hotel to Sukhumvit there is a tuk tuk but going back better to walk than wait and this soi comes out right on the bottom of Nana Soi 15 Sukhumvit Rd., Sukhumvit, BangkokBTS and safe in room.

Swiss Park soi 11 Sukhumvit rd, stayed there October 09, March 10, 1200baht a night

Good size room A/C good, older style room early 90’s pool pretty good breakfast great will cook you an omalate while you wait bed comfortable had a bath hot water good and water pressure okay, 50m from Sukhumvit and at stairs for Nana BTS I like this hotel for the location friendly staff no joiner fee and safe in room.

Bangkok World Inn soi 7 ½ sukhumvit same soi as Eden club stayed July 10 900baht a night

Older rooms say 80’s had a good feel only a double bed (I am tall like the queen size) no breakfast but 10m from Nana BTS and not noisy I was surprised at this

Great shower hot water and pressure, bed was comfortable and no joiner fee but no safe in room.

New Day Night moo 20 10 south Pattaya rd I think about 1500baht a night April 09

Breakfast was crap, I had a great room 9th floor a view of the sign and the ocean, a lot of cockroaches the A/C was good queen size bed that was new, my friend got a room where the bed had seen better days and the A/C worked 50% of the time pool was out of order and they tried to charge a joiner fee until we produced a receipt with the words NO JOINER FEE written in by the travel agent and no safe in room

Liquid lounge Soi LK October 09

Good size room A/C, bed and bathroom all okay no breakfast but jug and toaster, opposite club blue so nice eye candy of an evening only problem when the owners weren’t there the girls would crank the music up to 4am and then traffic started on soi buckhow at 7 am not a place if you value sleep no joiner fee safe in room

Keeta guest house soi LK 800 baht a night October 09

Good size room with A/C queen bed nice shower room with small balcony not too noisy. Only problem they have tinted glass along the top of the wall the hallway light is on 24/7 so you got a nice yellow tinge in your room, no joiner fee and no safe in room

Billabong hotel Soi LK check web for price stayed March 10

Big bed, A/C and a fan, good size room but really bad smell from the shower room it made sleeping hard some nights in room safe

Rock House soi LK check web March and July 10

I picked a smaller room but was surprised at the size of it almost as big as some of the larger rooms I stayed in bed and huge shower room (fits 3 comfortably) hot water good water pressure okay good A/C there was a problem but was moved to room until fixed (4Hours) and a fan not noisy no joiner fee and in room safe. There are larger rooms that have the feel of an apartment all rooms have LCD TV only place I stayed that did

Travellers Rest soi LK WOULD NOT RECOMMEND TO STAY HERE stayed July 10

Got a special big room great bed and thick towel, good A/C bath and good hot water. Now the bad stuff, While showering the hook for the shower broke I told the owner who is English and he charged me 475 baht this was wear and tear not maliciously done I told him that and he said “There are rules and regulations, you break it you pay for it” with this attitude it means if an item breaks such as a remote for the A/C or TV you have to replace it what happens if this is an older model? Or if you drop something on a tile and it cracks?

Went back one night with 2 ladies was refused entry with the second lady, I offered to pay for an extra guest but was told “There are rules and regulations it is only a maximum of 2 people to a room”

He made the point of telling me that this was a golfing hotel where a lot of couples and families stay well I hope with the new go go’s opening up and all the bars his business goes great.

Next Lolita’s soon to be a go go Soi LK 400baht a night

Small room double bed (hard to fit 3 of us) but new mattress small shower room but good hot water and pressure very quit private entry in room safe no joiner fee. There are larger rooms for rent for 850baht but these were full
