Just booked on Eva for Feb!

Recommended Posts

I booked yesterday to fly from Heathrow to Bangkok for early Feb! I have been checking prices recently, they seem to be prety high! So I thought Id wait a little longer.....................then I heard about the extra 30 quid airport tax coming in November! So yesterday , I was scouring the internet again! Fares were still high, so I thought Id ring good old West-East up. Long story short, Im booked for early February on Eva!

I paid £566, it would have been 30 odd quid cheaper. if Id come back within a month, but I am staying the extra few days!

So moral of my story? (apart from me getting excited!!!) Dont alway r rely on the internet prices!!!! As "sometimes!" it pays to phone up!!!!! I mean the price I was quoted over the phone wasnt on their web-site!!!!!!!!!! (actually now I think about it, every time Ive booked with West-East, the fares have always been cheaper over the phone!?).

The economy class APD for Thailand goes up by 25 quid for flights departing on or after 1 November. The tax is already in place - it doesn't make any difference if you booked today or next month.

Does this mean I'll be asked for an extra 25 quid for my flight in February which I thought I had already paid for in full? I guess you don't know how much I have already paid. Frankly, nor do I as my invoice lumps all the taxes together. All I can say is that I booked it two weeks ago.

This thread has caused me to look at my invoice and interestingly the "taxes" are described as "estimated" - so perhaps that answers my question.

It depends on what the airline (or the travel agent) calls taxes. You can ask the agent to break the "taxes" down for you - they're obliged to give you the info.
