I want to thank everybody who contributed to make this happen. I was a little worried when I first started this venture that I would not get much of a response but so many people contributed and helped to make this a very successful and enjoyable day.

We collected a little over 50,000 baht, had some toys left at The Drunken Duck and had the toys and candy I brought from home to donate. I would like to give a special thanks to BM zubbie and his friends who collected over half of our monetary funds. Without his contribution this little endeavor wouldn't have been nearly as successful. :whistling:

We got together at The Drunken Duck the day before the trip to go shopping for needed supplies listed on the Orphanages website. Aussiechic from PT located the store we were to do our shopping. It was a bulk retail store, like a Sam's Club here in the US. We were able to maximize the money we had to spend as prices were much less than we would have paid elsewhere. We spent around 30,000 baht on supplies and decided to give the remaining money directly to the Orphanage. Fr. Michael informed us the doctors at the Orphanage were in great need of medications and the monetary donation was very welcomed.

I forgot to bring my camera for the shopping so anybody who has pictures of that day or the day at the orphanage please post them on here. Sorry

The owners of The Drunken Duck let us unload and store our purchases there so the next morning we all met back at the ungodly hour of 9:00 am to load up and head off. We arranged for the driver from the day before to meet us with 2 buses for transport to the Orphanage. I'll skip over all of the chaos of the mornings events, after all TIT, but we finally managed to get loaded and on our way. We arrived at the Orphanage late only to find that most of the children had already left to attend the 36th Anniversary Concert they were performing that afternoon. My contact person was not there but every thing finally got sorted out and we unloaded all the goods and were able to visit in the nursery with the infants. It was truly a joy that words can't describe so I'll add some pics. First a link to the Orphanage website and a small tribute they posted. http://www.thepattayaorphanage.org/updaten...e=5&ac=2010

Michael -- it was much fun being part of your adventure. The shopping trip was much fun and the visit to the orphanage was heartfelt. Thanks for including me. If you decide to do this in the future, please advise. If I am in Pattaya at the time, I pledge my support and assistance.
