  1. Better than February anywhere else
  2. Yes, very well done
  3. Going up from Beach Road towards Second Road with The Bamboo on the right hand side, as you approach the traffic lights there is a small alley to your left. In there there is a man who makes shoes to measure. I bought a pair of plain black lace-ups for about 2,000 baht I think it was. JohnUK
  4. I recently asked a very similar question on the Off Topic page. Not sure that I got quite the answer I was looking for, but I'm now using a Roxio programme which seems to be doing the Biz. The main problem is the space my music takes up before I transfer it to CD. After that it's no problem JohnUK
  5. I have a Visa Electron card for my account with the Bangkok Bank on Second Road. No problems with it either in Thailand or England. JohnUK
  6. Don't know the name of the Gallery but I always use a place near Second Road. Heading South on Beach Road turn left at the start of Walking Street by the pier. Head East past The Bamboo bar towards the traffic lights and just before the junction with Second Road there is a small alley way to your left. Enter there and a few metres in on the left hand side is the art gallery. Tell the Thai artist that you are a friend of the man who gave him the bottle of Johnny Walker Blue Label. It might not help but it certainly won't harm you. I have been using him for a long time now and have never had any complaints regarding either quality or price. Winston and I used to have a business providing oil paintings done from photos scanned over the internet and this guy is as good as we found anywhere. Good luck. JohnUK
  7. I would agree that you should try the Pattaya Centre in Soi 12. With 226 rooms it is unlikely that you won't get fixed up there. Guest friendly and a comfortable walk from FLB. Should suit your requirements and and you should get a Junior Suite within your budget. E-mail Graham for advice on: graham@loxinfo.co.th JohnUK
  8. I'll be in Pattaya JohnUK
  9. I flew to Korat with them about 3-4 weeks ago. Absolutely no problems. Everything went without a hitch. When we landed it was raining and the stewardesses made us wait while someone came out from the terminal to bring us all umbrellas. Catch them doing that at Newcastle Airport JohnUK
  10. Hermitage Hotel. Excellent quality and very reasonable price http://www.hermitagekorat.com/ JohnUK
  11. I asked for that one didn't I ? JohnUK
  12. Nidnoyham, I reside in the North East but escaped to there after a few years of living in your neck of the woods. I have also lived in North Wales, Yorkshire, Hertfordshire, Essex, the West coast of Scotland and in a castle on an island off the South Coast. Along the way I have undoubtedly picked up some of the accents of all these places. Thank God that I never lived in the West Midlands where the accent is truly dreadful. I couldn't bear it if I spoke like that Now if I could only pick up the accents for speaking Thai correctly I might be able to chat better with some of the lovely ladies whose company I shall be enjoying in just a few weeks from now. Cheers old chap, JohnUK
  13. I rest my case
  14. As an Englishman with an education, listening to ANY Londoner is like listening to chalk on a blackboard. JohnUK
