thanks mr lovedog ,,is it still mad out there from the new year rush ,,,i normaly go to patts in may time and never had to book just walk straight to most hotels

You didn't say how long that you are staying. Personally, I like to book a room for a couple of days, and then look around for a place I like better. The down side to that is, looking for another place is a lot like work. The up side, it gives you something to do during the day.

im out there from the 18th till 29th,,,normaly stay at the carlton soi5 in the pool side rooms showing 820 baht ,,,but there all booked up during this time theres other rooms but there more inside rooms down a coridoor,,bit too closed in ....theres other hotels around so will have to take a stroll and look,,,,might take a smaller room at the carlton for 1st night as a base while im looking

Dennis is a good bloke to share a bottle of Jamieson's with, the place is clean, but you have to go out for breakfast. No lift to upper floors, and a bit noisy on the first upper floor - middle floor okay.
