Even though the contents of http://www.pattayaphotoguide.com have not been updated for 2 or 3 years, it's still a fantastic tool.

As an example, yesterday, my satellite TV decoder fried itself (well, maybe I helped by stacking some DVD cases over the air vents). The satellite provider is Truevisions, based out of Bangkok, and eponymous website is all Thai, and not helpful for residents of Chonburi province regarding service center location. In fact, on calling them, all they could tell me was that it was on Pattaya Klang

I did an internet search for "TRUEVISIONS PATTAYA KLANG" and got lots of hits, but one hit said "they may tell you to go to the ubc shop on pattaya klang facing carrefore". So, I used the pattayaphotoguide to browse the shops across from and near Carrefour, and sure enough, there it was.

There is nothing that says "Truevisions", but the old name "UBC" is on the front of the building. I'm sure that's it, and now I know exactly where to go, thanks to the photo and map location.

By the way, if you look at the photo, you should see a phone number at the bottom of the right hand window. I think it says 038 426 727, but can't be sure. I called that number and no one answered. It would be even better to call them and find out what their hours of operation are, and if they have a replacement box, but even so, from not having a clue where they were, to knowing exactly where and what to look for, it's a big help.

I recommend anyone wanting to see a building, hotel, or bar (as it was 3 years ago), use this great tool to find your way around.

Good question. I wish I knew. Based on your question, I just sent an email via their contact page to ask. If I get an answer, I will share it with you.

Agreed, you used it to point out an Indian restaurant to me and I used it as a research tool to confirm the name of another.

It certainly shows how things have built up over the intervening 2-3 years.

I suppose it is the same as Google Maps where you can pretty much look at any UK street.

I get to Pattaya once per year at Xmas, last couple of years i have stayed at the Sandy Spring and loved it, nice hotel and perfect location.

For this Xmas (2011) i decided a change would be in order, did research and always found problems with hotels i liked, too expensive, xmas/new year

special dinner costs etc.

Then i thought about the Residence Garden offer from this website http://www.pattayapages.com/residence/ and decided to look at where

it is and how far from certain places it can be, tried google maps but not a lot of good, however Photoguide was brilliant.

This link shows me the hotel, and by moving from the second road location at Pattaya Tai and working my way out to the hotel, it gives me

an idea of what to expect.

Ok, using the link shows me the old road being refurbished but it looks ok to me and will allow me to visit Jomtien etc which i have not done

so far on my 4 trips to Pattaya.

Excellent stuff.

Thankfully, they have finally, after several years, finished that section of the road!
