First one on the left as you walk south down Walking St, I think it is bank of Siam. Tops also has a good rate.

Tops is at the junction of Pattaya central Road (aka PattayaKlang) and 2nd Road, just north of Soi 7.  In my experience it has the best easily available GBP Sterling exchange rates in Pattaya

As a financial advisor might say... it depends on your attitude to risk :). A couple of plus points for travellers cheques are... if you lose them or they are stolen you are almost certain to get your money back and you get a slightly better exchange rate with them.  A Minus point is the cost of purchase which also sometimes includes a commission element.  More and more people seem to be bringing their ATM cards from home and using them in the Pattaya ATMs

Nationwide Buiding Society doesnt charge for atm withdrawal abroad so stick your money there and get 2.5 interest from current account and use cashpoint.

I just opened one up, it took ten minutes and had visa/debit card within a week.

They charge £20 to put money into my Thai bank but Lloyds TSB only charge £13 and ususally get it there in 2 days even though they quote 4-5 days.
