Im looking to buy an I Phone 4 and im currently in Houston, can anyone tell me if it is cheaper here to buy and if i buy it here, will it work in Thailand and Africa. I want to be able to change sim cards in the phone from time to time.

I am curious to know if the quoted "20'000 baht" in Tukcom is for the real product or are they imported copies.

Are the I Phones sold in the US only sold on a contract basis or can you have them on a pay as you go basis

Thanks

mick, give the Iphone 4 a pass and look at getting a Samsung Galaxy S2. It's a much better phone, does more, gives more, and will love you long time.

Most phones you buy in the USA from the mobile providers will be locked to their system, be very inexpensive, but will have a multi-year contract that you will not be able to service.

Get your next phone off Ebay (unlocked) or buy one anywhere but a mobile phone company.

Thanks for that, do you know if the ones in Tuk com are the real deal or just copies? I need to have a phone like these that will provide data and voice that will work reliably all over Africa and the middle east and i dont like BB before anyone mentions them

The Samsungs are the real thing, as are all of the Iphones as far as I know. You'd be better off buying them in Central at the Samsung dealer (near Power Buy). I wouldn't even be worried about copies at a place like that.

The Samsung Galaxy S2 is absolutely the best phone I have ever had. It's going for about 18,900 baht right now, and worth every baht. The internet capability and presentation is awesome. I spend very little time on a real PC anymore, since this phone can do it all.

Have her come by the bar, and I'll load it up with some great games and applications :P

Just a quick google search pulled up this...I think it's a fair review. The phone is the cat's meow...really.
