fastest upload locations (internet cafe, telco NOC, etc)?

Recommended Posts

Lots of threads have talked about download speeds, but what about the fastest upload speed options in town?

Say you wanted to upload ~5GB/day, or ~50GB/week from Patts... :whistling:

My condo will have 6Mbps ADSL downstream speed, but I suspect probably only something on the order of 512Kbps (~18MB/hr) upstream.

Anyone know of places (internet cafes, telco NOC, etc) where one could access much faster upload speeds than residential internet service?

Maybe someplace that provides a service like temp business office rentals, or a regional ISP that would allow you to come to their office and plug in a USB HD to do big uploads?

Do any of the internet cafes advertise super fast upload speeds?

There is no joy for you in Pattaya. About the best you will find is 1mb upload. True has super fast internet in BKK, but it isn't available in Pattaya. While looking for internet, I found faster upload speed, however when reading the fine print, it's within Thailand, it slows way down when going outside of Thailand.

Good point, but maybe I could get an account with a Thai ISP for uploading my data locally - then later download the data from the USA.

Do you know of any options for a local ISP storage of 500GB-1TB? Preferably one with FTP access options?

You won't find a Thailand ISP with that kind of storage I dont think... and if you did, pushing that kind of bandwidth thru it will lead to investigation. If the objects you are uploading are videos, they will eventually be seen... hope you understand what that means exactly :)

I get 1mb/s on average upload with my premier package at 3bb, and I hear that True's new service gets 3mb upload. Either of those would do 5GB/day and 50 per week if you could let them go most of the day. but again, if you use that much bandwidth your account WILL get scrutinized, so if your doing something illegal here in Thailand, you WILL get caught. Thats the way they got the idiot uploading his videos from his hotel last year... forget the guys name.. was big in the news at the time.

Can you remember anything else that might be helpful search wise? I would like to read what happened.

Not sure if it was official, maybe just a rumor? But someone mentioned it was either the owner of, or supplier of, the Thai Cream Pie site that (funnily enough) went offline shortly after.

I think they even mentioned the hotel? If not then the general area because I have it pictured in the beach road area around Soi 2-3-4... me memory is a bit dodgy.

Anyone else remember that one? It got some attention here at the time.
