Vietnamese can find a job in Pattaya or not

Recommended Posts

Hi,

I'm 27 Vietnamese girl. I have quite a good job in Vietnam, working as a Public Relation and Fundraising for a US-based non-profit organization. Before. I have experiences in Public relation and marketing.

I will move to Pattaya with my fiancee very soon. Wondering if I could find a job, any type, in here. As I'm not westerner, not native english speaker ( but my english is good, working with american for years, writing, speaking, listening fantanstic).

Any job possibility. I'm very worried. I just want to work, to make me feel not useless and spend his money.

Any advice from you guys

Thanks very much

Now let's see,

Public relations skills. check

Marketing experience. check

Now assuming you are easy on the eye(any chance of a pic?) I'm sure you could walk into a job at any Gogo in town. :kissing

Should not be a problem, check out this thread.

To lostgirl, you might have similar problems to any non-Thai working here, especially if you don't speak Thai.

Most jobs that have a requirement for English to be spoken also have an implicit expectation that you will be able to speak Thai to fellow employees.

Perhaps you could find something in the tourism sector, for example, the TAT (Tourism Authority of Thailand) that targets increasing and promoting tourism from Vietnam.

You will, of course, need a proper visa and a work permit to work legally.

Exactly. She's a foreigner. She needs to do what all other foreigners do, there is no special break for Asean, either.

What most people do - You get a job, then you let the job help you with the visa and work permit. Regular PR and marketing jobs are not common in Pattaya unless you speak Thai. Possibly a hotel that specialises in Vietnamese tourists MIGHT want something, probably part time. But it's a small market in Pattaya, still.

You will not get a job in Pattaya ONLY because you speak English, unless you speak Thai. PR and marketing people are not in short supply and they speak Thai and other languages.
