Al Davis dies.....

He's looked like death warmed over for quite some time, so no real surprise other than the finality of it. Love him or hate him he has had a tremendous impact on the sport like few ever have or will.

Ditto. This guy was the Steve Jobs of the NFL. He sold that game to the public like it was an iPhone. And about as warm as Jobs, too.

 

RIP, Al. You made an impact.

Was there ever a team more like its owner than the Raiders? Nasty and tough. He challenged the NFL establishment and won the right to take his team to L.A. But he was past his best-before date for some years now.

His epitaph: "Just win, baby."
