I added 'I found this'.... recalling the good Docs words verbatim is beyond me.

So he didn't say it? Then what was it he said, if anything, that was relevant to your point?

Here I thought you were a skillful stenographer.

It gets more confusing with every post.

He said words to that effect, he discussed issues with secondary infections.

Which was my point.

A lot of talk regarding monitoring white blood cell count and/or platelet count.

Where is here, Songkla?

If you are confused still perhaps Lovedog put it better.

I can come up with verbatim. He is not a very good speaker though, Tommy Dee over talks him easily with his misinformation in form of questions.

Dr. Ian Corness gets a call from Tommy Dee at pattaya Radio 105 FM to find out more about Dengue fever, the symptoms, treatment and what to expect.

I hadn't heard of this before, but after listening to that radio link and a bit of googleing here http://www.medicinenet.com/dengue_fever/article.htm i am pretty sure i had Dengue fever when i got home Nov 2010.

I came out in a rash all over my body except my face but only had a slight fever and mild aches, lasted about 5 days.

Whent to my Doctor and he had no idea what it was untill i said i had just come back from Thailand and had been enjoying the girls. Instantly he said i had advanced Syphilis and sent me to the clinic. The Doctor at the clinic was amazed my doctor had said this as he said it wasn't, Any how they did test me for everything STD wise and all was clear.

Got home this year (been home 3 weeks) and have had swolen glands, sore throat, fatigue, joint pains and strange bad pains behind my ears, again only mild symptons but i am wondering if i have had another type of Dengue. Maybe only 2 more to go if i have.

Absolutely you didn't have dengue. When you have dengue, you do not wonder if you might have had dengue. Read what LD wrote about having dengue. He had dengue, and it wasn't even a severe case.

And speaking of "absolutely" I really have "absolutely" no trust in western doctors about such stuff. Their ignorance isn't their fault, but their insistence they are NOT ignorant is. Coming down with an Thailand-related illness can be VERY dangerous to your health and happiness in the west. Similarly, the advice they give to people who are going to travel to Thailand is "absolutely" untrustworthy - might be right by accident, might be wrong.

Maybe not then, but it was this that got me thinking (taken from the above link i posted) "A characteristic rash appears along with the fever and spreads from the extremities to cover the entire body except the face. The palms and soles may be bright red and swollen" which is exactly what i had, but could have been some thing else, but severity of symptons can vary a lot from what i have just read.

That's the kind of guy I want if I get sick in the west. He won't go jumping to conclusions off some article he read a few years ago but can't remember too much about. That's what way too many doctors do when you say "I'm from Thailand" because they don't want to lose face and seem ignorant. Doughheads. Being ignorant is how you learn.
