The guys were specialists in identifying expensive bicycles and working a specific area. The OPs warning was timely and ahead of the media and the police.

 

I am sorry I said, at one point, I was coming to doubt the story.

 

I was in the heat of argument about the alleged foolishness of flaunting wealth by riding an expensive bicycle. I still think riding an expensive bicycle is relatively safe if you don't run into a gang specializing in stealing them.
