When I was there years ago I also was able to take the lift to the top to see a very good view of the city.

When I was there years ago I also was able to take the lift to the top to see a very good view of the city.

You can still do that now, but on the day I was there, it was closed due to either a Swedish royal visit, or the Swedish ambassador was there. Can't remember which one was due.

Brings back some memories from my old traveling days!

I visited Jakarta first time in 1994 and managed to get up in "Monas" and take a few shots of the view.
