Help & Advice Needed regards trip to pattaya

Recommended Posts

Hi guys & girls,

My wife & I are travelling to pattaya mid January, staying in the Pullman g.

Any suggestions or recommendations for transfers from Bangkok airport, looking for a comfortable ride :-)

While we are there, my wife is looking to visit some elephants, but not wanting to go to the typical tourist place. We have seen pictures of the one in pattaya, and I have to say this is not for us. As its her birthday, I was looking for something more intimate.

Would like to arrange a fishing trip as well so any recommendations for a company with nice boats would be appreciated.

Also any other advice or tips would be helpful, it's our first time in pattaya, and would like it to be special.

Many thanks in advance.

Donny

Bangkok to Pattaya. If you have your wife with you an airport taxi would be most comfortable and take you straight to where you want to go. (have a phone number or print a map off the internet as the driver will not know his way around Pattaya). There are large vehicles available if you have a lot of baggage. Probably do it for 2000 baht.

Pattaya is a touristy place, you can go to the elephant village but it doesn't sound like what you are after, that sounds more like a Surin resort, a long way off.

Fishing trips are hard to arrange unless you can get a large enough group together. Again the touristy boat trips, ride to beach, swim, small fish fishing and snorkelling with maybe a meal are commonplace and can be arranged at agents and hotel help desks.

Everyone visits Nong Nooch, Sanctuary of Truth, etc etc. But to be honest I wonder whether Pattaya is what you are after. It is very sex orientated!

Thanks for the quick replies!!

Tbh we made a mistake when booking, but we are both young open minded people, so it should be fun!!

have you a link to that elephant place that you mentioned?

Fishing would be a hire of a boat, and i know that it is expensive, but I always think that its best to book with someone that other people recommend =)

That mini siam looks amazing, so thats well worth a visit.

again thank you fro your time replying.

Are you staying at the Pullman in Naklua, Wongamat? If you are you are a fair way out from central Pattaya. The Pullman in Wongamat has a really nice beach area but you will need to ride baht buses etc to get into Pattaya. I live just around the corner from this place in Wongamat and i would be happy to help give ou any kinda directions when you get here. Sanctuary of Truth is just around the corner and some really good Thail restaurants aswell. You can ride on an elephant at Nong Nooch if you want to and im sure there is an elephant park along Sukhomvit road aswell as the floating market

I went to the floating market not long back... it was truly crap! I believe they have since started charging for entrance.

Mid January is still high season, and you did not mention how long you would be in town, and whether you could spend 3 or 4 days travelling further out, or needed to stay close to Pattaya.

Surin is maybe 500km away.

There are plenty of 'tourist attractions' around Pattaya, but it's main theme is the 'night-life'.

There are also lady-boy shows that are very popular, not my thing but women seem to go for them.

Yes that's the Pullman we are staying in :-) would be great for directions and such :-)

We are only staying for two weeks, but we are going to try and spend a weekend in Bangkok. It is funny how women like to see the ladyboys, but when I got caught wearing her bra, it was a whole different story ( joking )

This Pullman is quite away from anywhere, unless you want to stay in this area, its ok around the hotel with restaurants etc , but they are fairly expensive compared to the rest of Pattaya but they are good. For getting around you will need to either hire a car, bike or take "Taxi" baht buses which will be quite pricey to get anywhere. Let me know what you want to do with regards to getting around and ill try to help you further.
