Residence Garden v. Jomtien Boathouse v. Eastiny

Recommended Posts

Going to be in town 21 June and am having trouble deciding (actually having trouble doing anything but staring at the calendar in the hopes of moving it along) between Residence Garden (1 bedroom suites, guest policy, amenities, location, restaurant), or Jomtien Boathouse (Seaview at good price, bedroom only, Jomtien location, restaurant, guest policy), or Eastiny (great price with offered upgrade to superior room, location).  The qualities I've listed could be considered "good" or "bad" depending, but I wanted to try and get as much well-earned, expert advice as possible.  The trip will be one of those forget-the-real-world, too much booze, too much TG, too much food blowouts that life writes us a prescription for every so often.  Thanks in advance for all the wisdom.

58 Days until the step through the looking glass.

We all have opinions on what is important.  Of the three that you have listed, I would go with the Eastiny.  Location is my reason.  I could care less about having a second room, and I wouldn't care to be in Jomtien.  The only thing that interests me at the RG is the in-room safe.  Do they have them at Eastiny?  Regardless, I would opt for the Eastiny and be in the heart of the action.

winner,

Eastiny Place does not have in room safes.  Security boxes available at reception.  Don't know about Eastiny Inn, because I haven't stayed there.

PenName, I would recommend either Eastiny or either of the Flippers if your going to be doing alot of drinking and chasing TG's.  Plenty of both right out your front door.

I like the Residence Garden but for me there is one downfall and that it is difficult to close the apartment main door without slamming it. This noise travels and I am invariably woken by the sound of slamming doors.

I belive there is a fix though, if they would put a little oil on the striker plate where the latch close it would make it possible to just pull the door closed without having to slam it.

Could someone suggest this to the hotel owner? It's a simple thing and would improve even further quality of life there.

I know it bothers others as both my 'neighbours' at the RG commented on it.

Pete? Someone? Please mention it to the owner...

Also depends on how long you will be staying. After a few weeks I got tired of just having one room with a bed in it. Residence garden suites are nice and bright with most having nice views. Good to be able to sit on a real sofa in a livingroom enviroment. It's also nice to have a small kitchen for those small intimate meals.  [smiley=gulp.gif]
