Both hotels are good and the prices are about the same. The pool is better at the Flipper Lodge.  When I was last in Pattaya about a week ago they had the front wing (closest to Beach Road) closed. The hotel was rehabbing the wing, which is a little strange because that is the newer part of the hotel.

It may just come down to location; do you want to be on Soi 8 or on Soi 2? For me it is no choice I love Soi 7 and Soi 8. Another option you may want to look at is the Flipper Hotel on Soi 7, they are offering about the same rate but free nights too. I believe the deal was stay 5 pay 4, stay 7 pay 5, and stay 14 pay 10. It is a good offer for the same level of hotel.

"But how far of a walk is it from soi 2 to 8 it seems according to the maps its really close to one another ?? "

The walk is over a quarter of a mile, not bad to do at night but in the hot heat of day is another story. Besides if you plan on hitting Soi Pattayaland or Walking Street, you need to double that walk. The great thing avbout Soi 7 and Soi 8 is it is right in the middle of everything.

I don't know the distance, but it takes me about 10 minutes to walk that distance.  Those maps are not to scale, there is a big distance from Soi 6 to Centeral Rd.

I kinda thought so,That is why I asked

I guess I got spoiles somewhat from Fields ave in AC as the walk from the orchid is close to everything so I guess I am expecting the flipper weither its the hotel or lodge to be pretty much the same ,,However I have read great things about the Sabai thu ,,,,,

I think thit is the funnest part for me before I get there is trying to figure out the best places to stay at :}

Starry,

Just wondering if you could tell me where a person would lock up their computer while staying at the Flipper Lodge?  My understanding is that you cannot use a laptop from your room because their is no phone jack to use with the computer.  Appreciate your help.

Regards
