Songkran in Pattaya will go on past the "official" dates listed. Plan on Being soaked at least during April 13th-19th.

The New Year break starts after work on Fri 11th. Plan on being elsewhere from at least the 10th, IMHO.

Damn, does the booze ban on 14th Feb include restaurants, or is it just bars/gogos can't sell booze?

It includes everywhere except the more upmarket hotels (those that operate their bars and/or restaurants under their hotel licence).

Yes true but taking a brown paper bag from 7/11 back to your room with a take away doesn't really strike me as a great way to celebrate Valentine's Day with your girl of choice! :D

Hopefully RG's considered a "place to sell alcohol under the rules on hotel" hehehe

The restriction refers specifically to selling, not consuming, alcohol. Think about it.

Worst case scenario is you buy in advance and take your girl to the beach.
