Buying a "big shirt" in Pattaya

Recommended Posts

Im about to fly to Thailand to spend Christmas with my daughter in Pattaya .. she has just advised me to bring a " nice " shirt, as we are having xmas lunch at the Sheraton .. Trouble is, I have recently dropped 23 kilo's, and my 4XL shirts look like tents on me ... still gonna need a 2XL I reckon. As I have never been there, I'm not familiar with what is available . I' ll be in BAngkok 22nd and 23rd .. then Pattaya 24th on.

Im sitting at Cebu airport now, so no chance of getting one here ..

Actually I would be interested in any big guys size clothes.,as not much choice here in Cebu.

THanks for any suggestions .. Gus ( 6' 4" and a very trim 110kg ) :)

Marks and Spencer in Central World or Central Chidlom do decent farang-sized clothes. Not cheap though.

Plenty of 2XL in the markets although mainly short sleeves. In Pattaya Mike Shopping Mall have long sleeved shirts in 2XL. As already stated there are millions (so it seems) of tailors that will make to measure in a couple of days.

Don’t stress.... The shop keepers in Pattaya are very happy to look after the larger gentleman. As you walk through Mikes shopping centre they have signs from 2XL to 6XL and the girls will let you know “Have your size” a few hundred times. The ground floor has T-shirts and singlets but go upstairs to find just about anything you want. If you have more money than sense feel free to go to central shopping centre where the designer labels are displayed for the well heeled but for me I can by designer shirts for $10 in Mikes and the quality is fine.

Thanks guys .. yes true, no need to worry about 2xl shirts , plenty around, but as a point of interest , I was at Putunam markets ( spelling ? ) Bangkok yesterday, and there were 2 shops in the back section selling mens clothes up to 8 and 10 XL ... for the really " big guys " !
