Flight Reviews Section?

(Apologies if this has already been raised) I guess the three main elements in our trips to LOS are girls, hotels and flights. Got the first two well covered here of course (although as a newbie I'm still not sure what goes

on in the members' section), but how about a section for post-trip flight reviews to complement the Airline Deals board, ie similar to the way we have both an ongoing Hotel & Accomodations board as well as a more permanent and searchable Hotel Reviews section? Maybe a similar kind of thing to those on Skytrax  http://www.airlinequality.com/main/flightreview.htm

but of course exclusively for Bangkok flights, sorted by

departure point or carrier, and giving opinions on ticketing, check-ins, lounges, inflight service, aircraft used, IFE, seating arrangements, transfers, punctuality, etc? Could soon build into a useful information resource.

Good idea, I've flown on many different airlines and back in the cheap seats. The service tends to be the same. The only difference I've found the SQ and Thai flight attendent's are the best looking.

 

United on most of their flights offer Premier Economy which gives you 5" more leg room if your one of their elite flyers.

 

Red Carpet Club in the US is mearly ok. No free beer or whiskey. Foreign Red Carpet Clubs offer free drinks.

 

SQ and Thai clubs are nicer with better booze.

Be a good idea as I had a "shitty" flight on NWA from MSP-NRT/NRT-MSP....A real set of "bitches" for FA's. I've sent a letter, but don't expect a quick response.

The problem is ......consistency.

 

I've travelled on most of the Airlines running from the UK to Bangkok and there is little consistency.

 

One day you will get a super flight on an aircraft, great service from the staff good food etc etc. Then things can go wrong. some of the waitresses (cos thats all they are) have PMT, the food is a little off and the flight is crap.

For consistency of service I would always say Gulf Air is one of the best

Singapore Airlines: IFE good, Seat/pitch OK, Food good, Service OK-good.

 

Malaysia Airlines: IFE Good, Seat/pitch good, Food good, Service good.

 

Cathay Pacific: IFE new, teething problems, similar system to SA, Seat/pitch OK, Food bad, service OK.

 

Thai Airways: IFE poor, Seat/pitch good, Food OK/good, Service good.

 

British Airways: IFE good, Seat/pitch OK, Food fair/OK, Service DIY.

 

Business/Club

 

British Airways: IFE Good, Seat/pitch good,/v.good, Food Good, Service British.

 

 

Cannot remember enough of travel with other airlines travelled with, in order to give a reliable opinion.

I like the idea of a flight review section.

 

I always fly British Airways to Thailand, but after a horrendous expereience at the hands of their codeshare partners (Quantas) I ensure it's a BA plane I'm using.

 

But like I said previously, its consistency. You only need one grumpy waitress on the plane to ruin things or one dodgy baggage handler.

 

Anyway, what would you do if you got to the airport to find it wasnt a BA Plane ?

I didn't think much to "Quaint Arse" either, mainly because of the FA's poor attitude. I always remember the little lad in front of me, who wasn't sure which drink to take from the tray; 'Look, it's juice or water; JUST GO FOR IT!' she snapped , and the poor little bugger (only about 5) really took it to heart; seemed to spoil the whole thing for him. Far from an isolated incident, either. But as Le Vicomte says the main issue is consistency, and that's where a new flight review  section might come into its own, in allowing us to compare notes. So how about it Mods?
