Qatar Airways/Doha

Recommended Posts

Hi All, going with Qatar on my next trip to Thailand, anybody used them recently? More to the point, any smokers used them? If so, did you notice if Doha duty free stocks Regal? I have been instructed to buy this brand only by fussy relative. Any info would be a great help,Thanks!

Yes! I flew with them last year from manchester.Service ok varied crew nationalities.Main problem was foot rests didn`t  leave much room to be to comfortable, if you are on the tall side.It would have been far better without the foot rest!!!! Plane from doha to bangkok got to take off position and then something broke. We heard a large crack!!  ???Don`t know what it was.We went back to terminal where there was total confusion. We ended up on a flight to K/L where we had to get another flight to bangkok arriving a number of hours late. :-/ On arriving in bangkok we found they had not transfered the hold baggage!!! Though it did arrive the next day at the hotel where I was staying.Secrurity at doha is tight.

I've used Qatar a couple of times and found the service to be very good.

The foot rests are not on the Man-Doha flight, but are on the Doha-BKK leg.(Pun intended).

I like the fact that the stopover in Doha is only an hour or so.Nice to stretch ones legs. I believe Emirates' stopover is considerably longer.

I am unable to sleep on the plane,so I like the idea of arriving in Bangkok at around 8am. I get my head down for a few hours at the hotel and am ready to go by mid-afternoon.

I know many members will disagree with my comments but personally I would rather arrive in BKK in the morning than at night.

Oh,the Duty Free in Doha is good value, but not sure about the fags.

If you want a crap there, the bogs are those silly holes-in-the-floor. I poo on plane.

Cheers.

Thanks for the info chaps, I usually go with Emirates and the 3 hr wait in Dubai is a killer. Anyway, I'm off to check airline safety statistics now!, you've got me a little sh*t up over those mysterious cracks and bangs :-[
