Hello-

Trying to book BKK to LAX and in the states I'm getting outrageous fares quoted to me. Right now, Cathay is offering $599 R/T from LAX to BKK. But, when I book it in reverse, it doubles!

Anyone have any ideas on websites for BKK travel agents that I might be able to log onto and sort this out?

Thanks,

Mark

I have been looking for tickets in late August but the tickets seem to be very expensive for July and August.  June seemed cheap but that's too soon.  If you can wait they go down a little in September.  Out of LAX on the 11th and returning the 25th of September I found around $600.00 on EVA plus my Southwest to LAX ($55.00).  I can even get a free upgrade to deluxe on the two long haul flights because I fly so much.   If you want to fly July or August you are going to pay a fortune, over $1000.00.

Actually, LAX/BKK round trip on Cathay is $599 plus tax for July and August. I'm booked for it already but bought before their promotion began of $599.

What I am looking for is Bangkok to LAX and return. Flight originating in BKK and ending in BKK.

You can book a flight at any travel agent in America.  Just get the dates and they can book a one way flight back to America.  My ex I in America had 2 children in Thailand.  When I went to Thailand and brought them to America I bought two tickets in America (one way) at a local travel agent no problem.  You can also book when you are in Thailand they have travel agents all over.  In Pattaya there is one that I know of on soi yodsak near the Queen Vic.  I think you can book a one way on Expedia or travelosity or orbitz.  What I like to do is print out a good deal on the internet and take it to a local travel agent to see if they can beat it.  Try to stay away from Prestige travel, they will charge a $50.00 fee on international.  Good luck

Also check out http://www.nwa.com   I just got a flight outta vegas for $712 that incls tax and everything.   oh yeah my departure date is Aug 22 back Aug 31st or later :) , I   checked July dates and they were the same price.  The link for the Cath deal is here http://www.cathay-usa.com/dotm  but there is a 1 hour stop over in Hong Kong :(  , and that deal has been out for over a week now so somedates might  be gone.

Mrt,

Thanks, I have 52,000 miles with NWA and very close to my free flight.    When I go home to Syracuse N.Y. in the end of June on Continental (northwest partner) I should be close to my free flight.  With the free flights they make you book so far ahead of time.  Probably early 2004.   I will probably end up going EVA in early September for $650.00 out of LA.  Plus another $60.00 for Southwest to LA.  That way I can get my free upgrade to deluxe class.  I like Eva because I work at 3am and I can take a flight out if BKK at 5:30pm and return to LA at 8:30 pm.  The only thing that sucks bout Eva is LA to Taipei is 14 hours.   I take 2 xaxax, 2 benedril, 1 melitonin.  I sleep 10 hours non stop. Thanks again.
