LAX to BKK: China Air or Thai?

Recommended Posts

I've never tried China Air but the one time I flew Thai Air from LAX to Bangkok, I was impressed.  I was in economy class, but it didn't seem all that bad.  Plus, the service was good and you could pretty much eat and drink nonstop, if that's what you wanted to do.

There was a one hour layover in Japan, and the flight arrived in Bangkok around midnight.

flew China Air once - NEVER again.  late leaving Hawaii, late leaving Japan, late leaving Taiwan.  For about a grand total of 3 hours late getting in to BKK.  I have also flow United, N'West and JAL - prefer JAL.

Have flown China and its the worst in terms of service. If you do have the misfortune to take it, get there early and ask for the bulk head seating so at least you can rest ur feet, and check out the waitresses, I mean stwardesses. This airline also does not have the best safety record. I think only the PI is worse... Fly Japan, the foods pretty good, u get ur own computer for games and the girls there will give you a 14 hour hard on for the whole trip.. :D

I've never flown China but have flown Thai and would have no reason to go anywhere else. Service is great and the planes are clean. Never been late one time.

My 2 baht worth...

I have flown both Thai and China. My last two trips have been with China, Jan/Feb this year and last year also.

No problem whatsoever and they were cheaper than Thai Airlines. On time, food and service no problem. Will no doubt fly with China again.

For the time being..."if" you can avoid TPE or HKG, it may be in your best interest, the medical checks will delay you in BKK
