Displayed prices are for multiple nights. Check the site for price per night. I see hostels starting at 200b/day and hotels from 500b/day on agoda.

Today, United was quoting (via Orbitz.com) roundtrips of $594 from SFO for 19 June to 08 July; $606 from LAX.  Middle of the country seemed to be going for $750 to $900.  Beats (considerably) what prices have been going for.

One day?  That pains me more than you can imagine.  Sigh.  Well, have an amazing time and don't leave any of them so worn and torn that they can't get back in the game by the time I get there.

Let the healing (yours, anyway) begin.

43 and counting, but not quick enough.

Using priceline.com, I got r/t from San Francisco to BKK for $482.60, 5/27 to 6/19

A couple things to consider:

1) The airfare from a given location varies according to departure date. For me, there's an increase once I leave on or after 6/1. Another increase occurs when 11/1 rolls around. The return date doesn't seem to matter.

2) When using priceline, initially bid a ludicrously low price. You'll get a response saying "We couldn't find a ticket for the price you bid, but we did find one for $X. You have one hour to buy it." Bid $20 under that (you may have to do this on a later day as the software seems to be pretty savvy - the counter-offers keep increasing if you try to be a smart-ass. It's almost like bartering with a live person. )

3) Tickets cannot be changed in any way, so be sure of your travel plans.

4) You will get your travel dates, but the travel times will not be known to you until AFTER the ticket has been purchased. One time I got stuck with a 10-hour layover in Narita. This time I was lucky as my longest layover is 2 hours, 40 minutes, which is okay.

5) If you would rather know your specific flights, then priceline should not be used. Red-eye flights are best as you'll end up getting 3 or 4 hours of sleep helping to reduce jetlag. Also, be somewhat hungry when boarding the plane. It's a long, boring flight and you'll eat whatever you're offered. If you eat a full meal prior to boarding, you'll stuff yourself and be very uncomfortable. Take it easy on the alcohol to help avoid dehydration.

6) Another site worth looking at is: http://www.angeltravel.com/
