First time traveller, hotel suggestions

Erm.....Honey Lodge is not in or close to Soi Honey Inn.

Honey Lodge is close to the entrance of Walking Street, but away from the noise.

Having said that there are now quite a lot of accommodation places in Soi Honey and more seem to be getting refurbished all the time. I went for a look around the 24/7 Boutique Hotel a year or two ago and was quite impressed with the quality of some of the rooms and it had a pool. I reckon that a walk down the soi and a look in the doors might be a profitable couple of hours for anyone looking for a room in that area.

First trip? Make a list of a bunch of hotels on the Soi's between Beach Road and Second Road. Then, pour over the forum(s) eliminating hotels that are out of your price range, comfort level, etc... If you stay within those parameters you'll have quick access to baht buses that will take you from wherever you stay down to Walking Street and all the way up to the Dolphin Roundabout. You won't even have to cross a major road unless you want to. Yes, there are hotels, and things to do, when you cross Second Road, but nothing you can't find without crossing it.
