Apologies not exactly a tech problem with the board as such.

Here's my problem. I have Tunnel Blick VPN installed on my i-mac, I connect to it via fastukvpn.co.uk which I have two profiles downloaded a and b which I used to be able to switch between if one was slow. For the last week or so I cannot connect and keep getting a Resolving Domain Name message which just keeps trying to connect but never does.

I have googled this and to be honest am no further forward in resolving my problem. Are there any tech heads on the board that could explain in simple terms what is going on? Is it my ISP blocking the access ? I'm with True visions if that is any help. This looks as though it's way above my level of very basic expertise.

My subscriptions to fastukvpn.co.uk runs out on the 6th August, if I can't find a solution before then I will try another VPN and hopefully will not have the same problem.

Any help/answers will be much appreciated.

Regards

I can only say I am also with True ISP, and am able to connect to UK servers via IPVanish VPN service. I doubt True would block Apple prior to Windows.

I have been suffering spurious disconnections a few times but it hasn't impacted me that much. I suspect strongly this is an issue with one particular UK end server.

You need to contact your VPN supplier. I had issues when IPVanish upgraded, which went fine with Win10, and WIN 7, but would not load onto my old Vista unit. IPvanish helped me through some belaboured attempts to get it to load, which ultimately ended up with rolling back to the previous release and blocking the check for updates.

Cheers for the input jacko. I forgot to mention in my post that I've emailed fastukvpn.co.uk twice explaining my problem with no reply, hence the plea for help here.

Good to know that True are not blocking access to any VPN's. I had a quick look the other day at IPVanish service along with a few others, would you recommend them overall ?

Regards.

Well it's not like I have tried a lot of different ones but yes have been mostly happy and they have a shit load of servers worldwide to choose from. Their support was a little 'automated' if you know what I mean, ie initially making simplistic off the treadmill suggestions but they kept at it.

Does fastukvpn.co.uk not have a forum/ Facebook page you could get to.

Unfortunately i have had to spend a bit of time back in L.A. recently. I just started using the Firefox free extension HOXX and has been working out very well. They also have a premiere membership level but i have not yet had the need to look into it. Hope this helps

Cheers jacko,

No sign of them on facebook at all, their help forums via their home page has zero topics in any of the sections.

Still no joy trying to resolve the problem, but to be honest I haven't been trying all that hard. Think I will just wait until my membership lapses in a couple of days then delete everything from the computer and sign up for another VPN provider.

Thanks anyway.

Regards
