Let us know if they ever bring business class in for less than 2k.

Will do. Actually, last week Cat Tar posted a Business class fare in error for Viet Nam to JFK for ~$575. Those that used the 24 hour hold instead of paying immediately received a cancellation the following morning. Those who paid still showed confirmed for a few days last I heard. My business class days are over now that I have to pay. I'm fine with 3 visit in 5 months.

Both China Eastern and China Southern have some very attractive fares. I have heard economy is very cramped -- more than usual -- and some flights have no entertainment systems. Also pretty poor food and the airports don't offer much for waiting times and layovers. Anyone with any experience of these two carriers?

For specifics on most flights and airlines,I use seatguru.Lists seat pitch,IFE,seat recommendations, ect. No conjecture there.

Regarding airports,I use http://www.sleepinginairports.net/airport-guides.htm

Not sure of the quality of the US flights but last flight on a Chinese line for me was ho hum. My comment at the time was that they need a few years to get to understand what the Western traveller wants. Its not rotten entertainment, warm beer and forgettable food as well as the inevitable cramped seats.
