You might want to go on line and check out their fares.  I was checking out some coach fares from San Francisco to Bangkok and I was quoted approx $2100, if I flew out of San Francisco to LAX and then to BKK it was around $750 and if I flew out of San Francisco to Seattle then to BKK it was around $650.  I thought this was strange so I decided to find out what the cost would be if I flew from my airport (Sacramento) to Bangkok and the total cost was $618.  This is from Sacramento to San Francisco and then on to BKK.  So by flying 90 miles to San Francisco, instead of driving,  I save $1500.  ??? ??? ??? This fare include frequent flyer miles plus a 1000 mile bonus by booking on line.  My only worry is if they will still be around to book the free flight.

Go Figure?

With what is going on with United now, I would double check and make sure that the deal is in fact the deal! Nothing now surprises me with United as the mess they are in speaks for itself. If it is real, of course you have to jump on it; Helluva deal!

Good Luck!

If it turns out too good to be true, scroll down and see the deal I got on China Airlines, good from SFO or LAX. It was the best I could find.

Jerry,

It's for real, at first I was checking on a February 10 departure when I got the quote on line.  By the time I clicked over to select my seat I got the message that the fare was no longer available because those fares were sold out.  I changed my departure to February 11 and the same low fare was available, needless to say I booked immediately.

Remember the email I got from United said you had to REGISTER for the double miles, then buy your e-ticket..

Emil.. I'll be in town then also..

Many Great United Fares...Try the Net but make sure you get the info on the fare class..All the really cheap deals are V class fares...No Upgrades and big penalities on changes!!! H class ( upgrade OK and less restrictions)

is about 20% higher on the phone line!

Buyer Beware on some very cheap fares....
