go here

http://www.lavasoftusa.com/software/adaware/

download adaware (FREE)

scan your computer and you whould find some evidence of Malware/trackware/spyware - this shit gets in your registry and does evil things to your computer.  Delete everything that shows up in the Adaware scan.  May require a re-boot.

I also runs scans using Spybot - Search and Destroy

http://www.safer-networking.org/index.php?...p?page=download

another Freebie....sometimes catches stuff that Adaware doesn't.

Make sure you get the latest updates prior to running the scans

good luck

Go to my computer, control panel, internet options, type in your home page in the box.

You may have went to a warez site or porno site that hijacked your home page and dropped some spyware on you too.  Do like Upena says and do a clean up.  ;)  M_H

Totally agree, Ad-Aware is a must if you have cable or ASDL hookup.

Also worth looking into is RegVac....Sorts out all kinds of registry problems...Just put it into NOVICE mode, and run it.

You can find it through Google. Download the evaluation version, I am told that it keeps running after 30 days, I have had it for 3 weeks, so don't know.

For computer problems, have a boo at www.computing.net

to your favourits.put cwshredder into google its for free

and get a firewall so you can block individule sites

If that searchpage is "webcoolsearch" and you also find some sex lonks in your favourites you have got a virus.

The problem is the file msconfd.dll. - To get rid of it you have to fiddle around in the registry and it would be too complicated to explain here. just google with the name of this file and you will find links with solutions.

- Had the same problem.
