Have flown with China twice. Both times economy. Flying again in June economy again . But have now joined the Dynasty Flyer Program so will upgrade for Dec. 2004.

We fly NCL-AMS-BGK and it all fits nicely. No long waits. On board is OK. The trolley dolly's are pleasant and attentive.

Most gripes on this board seem to moan around the grub. The 2 main meals (when I was awake) were omlette and chicken and rice. (not at the same time). Which I don't mind. Snacks revolve around (pot) noodle style.

Personally I have no complaints. But I regard all airline travel as a job that has to be done rather than some luxurious experience.

China has had some problems relating to safety!! However that revolves around old aircraft in SE Asia.

As far as I am concerned on safety China fly AMS-BGK daily and nothing seems to happen. Same as KLM etc.

IMHO cannot be beaten on price and you have a comfortable enough trip. At the end of the day you fly in a silver tube to your destination. It's never going to be good.!!!! Enjoy!!

Dynasty Class is Buisness Class.

Relatively good value from UK for a Biz class seat, especially if you are on the cheap offer. Seat pitch is about 48", plenty of room I found, and in a 2-2 formation upstairs; Lower cabin is 2-3-2 formation. Seats are a lot more comfortable than EVA (softer on the seat !) Food was excellent and certainly not the boiled chicken & rice that the yanks apparently get offered !

Now, cattle class : That apparently is a different story !

I am looking forward to China again in early June, my 3rd flight with them.

In the Dynasty Flyer program, you get 5703 miles from AMS-BKK, and a one way upgrade to the next class is 15000 miles (low season), so I will be in the premium economy cabin for my outbound flight.

Economy is not too bad, and as Top Cat (hi Tony) says, any flight that gets you to the LOS is a OK.

They have always been on time, almost to the minute, the cabin staff are good, the food edible (some disagree on this), and unlike the other airlines I have used (BA,QANTAS and KLM) you have pleasant "facilities" throughout the flight.

Return flight, as booked with Gazelle Travel in Newcastle (thanks Pat) was £469 from Glasgow.
