No, you can't get a 60 day visa upon arrival.

You have two options (excluding leaving the LOS and returning) which are....

Apply for a 60 day visa from the Thai embassy or a Thai consulate before you leave or simply go to an immigration office (Soi 8 in Pattaya) before your 30 day visa on arrival expires and for 1900 baht they will give you an automatic 15 day extension. You will need passport photos and a photocopy of the "ID" page of your passport. You hand over all the relevant documents, they give you a number and a time when your passport will be ready for collection - it takes a couple of hours or so, depending upon how busy they are.

I should add that if you think there is a chance that you may want to stay longer than 45 days then it would definitely be best to apply for a 60 day tourist visa before you depart - these are also extendable.

Pieman's right, Jack. One advantage of getting the 60 day visa in the UK is that it can then be extended for, I think, a further 30 days. The cost of the visa in the UK is, I think £30 for a single entry visa.

Check out the Thai Visa site for more information http://www.thaivisa.com/forum/

I think the visa can be obtained from any of the Thai consulates in the UK but those in Hull, Birmingham and I believe, Cardiff are apparently particularly helpful.

You never have trouble when coming into the country and having the current visa expiring before your return plane ticket. I have done it a number of times and never had a problem. Never even have been asked about it.

Cheers
