  1. This reminds me of a day a few years ago when I got on the lift at the 7th floor all alone and it stopped at the fifth floor where 3 young Thais got on and I dropped a particularly nasty one , whereupon the three young Thais started hitting the lift button so they could get out at the third floor. And all they got from me was a smile and a slight shrug. Sometimes Thai food takes me on a journey others would rather I not travel.
  2. ????????????????????????
  3. I hope they do it better this time that they did last time because my memory of it was that it lasted for about a fortnight and then everything they had done was washed onto the beach
  4. Surely You wrote that wrong , as always has 6 letters, wouldn't you agree.
  5. Dont get it ?.why is this funny?.
  6. would that by any chance be Biden's new number 2 ?.
  7. I once watched a very similar act almost 40 years ago in Hamburg . Unfortunately the lady who did the act was a bit of a battle axe and her act was so poor she was almost demanding applause from a fairly unimpressed audience the upshot was her storming off at what I thought was not the end of her act. The rest of this all fucking all sucking show was a great hit and I was lucky enough NOT to get a close look feel or kiss of the tranny Boy who was offering tricks to the audience, before he took off his pants.
  8. can you tell who the girl is in your gif i've seen her tits so much I am beginning to think I know her.
  9. Like most things, when it comes to money, the driving factor is not how much things cost as how much do you have. I holiday in Pattaya for much less than most because I do not drink ,I do not smoke and my mongering days when in town have dropped a great deal since my first visit 16-17 years ago. Today I pay for accommodation on the hill in newers condos £275-£300( 1200baht) a month and that includes wifi, with services around 2000 baht. I have a 2 hour massage every other day that costs 200 plus tip 20, I eat in fairly low priced places , not the lowest but I rarely spend much more than 600 baht a day on food with drink ( pepsi max) A shave every other day 100 + tip 20. I love the quiz nights to be had in many bars around Pattaya and do 5 a week with my average bar bill at 250 baht for pepsi max. I rent a Motorbike for a month at 2500 plus 500 for fuel and laundry around 1200 baht Accommodation wifi water power 14000 cleaning 1000 Massage 1800 Shaves 1800 food 18000 transport 3000 Laundry 1200( approx) That's 41000 baht just for the essentials that for me include 5 nights out . I go to the cinema and that's cheap , even when I occasionally want a little mongering that is not a great cost either but I don't miss out just because I have a limited budget I do what I want when I want ,its just that I dont have the urge to spend thousands buying drinks for bar girls and their many friends and even had I unlimited resources that is not something I need or want to do. Each person has to do what he wants with his time and money I see no reason to feel underrated just because there are some who enjoy wasting what they have because that is not how I live my life. I am and will continue to be a Cheap Charlie and will have enough to come to Pattaya for many years yet. PS I always look for ways to get there more cheaply and always use 1 stop travel so my flight costs are usually less than £ 400 and I have in recent years discovered the bell bus and use it to get to Pattaya when I can ,depending on the plane times, but always book a taxi to the airport from Pattaya as its just more convenient. PPS I know a couple of guys on nothing much more than their pensions , approx 34000 baht a month who live there full time in fairly basic accommodation who do OK even if they do not live like kings, its so much better than living in penury back in the UK with it horrible weather
  10. Any news of how the pound is doing on the streets of Pattaya during this horrible crisis.
  11. Not quite sure why that was supposed to be funny , though I do appreciate the Stones
  12. At home ,The UK, I drink red almost all of the time and 90% of that is Australian Shiraz.with the odd Merlot chucked in because its on offer. I drink what tastes good to me and suits my palate. I don't go in for fancy expensive wines and won't drink the rubbish cheap reds that are normal for Pattaya so almost never drink wine in Thailand, if only because of the poor quality and inflated prices. I do however remember drinking a cheap red Thai wine I bought in the Big C ou near the Dolphin many years ago that was called something like Black Knight or Dark Knight and was sold on the table right outside the Big C, they also had a white Called very unimaginatively White Knight ,and whilst not the greatest wine I have ever tasted , it was at least good value for money and was perfectly palatable. Came back the next year and never found it again . It was back in the days when I stayed the whole summer so I remember buying a couple of cases and drank the lot as it was very nice with food or just bread and cheese. Anyone else remember this stuff.
  13. one tries one tries , and one can become very trying.
  14. A couple went to the hospital to have their baby delivered. Upon their arrival, the doctor said that the hospital was testing an amazing new high-tech machine that would transfer a portion of the mother's labour pain to the baby's father. He asked if they were interested. Both said they were very much in favour of it. The doctor set the pain transfer to 10% for starters, explaining that even 10% was probably more pain than the father had ever experienced before. But as the labour progressed, the husband felt fine and asked the doctor to go ahead and kick it up a notch. The doctor then adjusted the machine to 20% pain transfer. The husband was still feeling fine. The doctor then checked the husband's blood pressure and was amazed at how well he was doing. At this point they decided to try for 50%. The husband continued to feel quite well. Since the pain transfer was obviously helping the wife considerably, the husband encouraged the doctor to transfer ALL the pain to him. The wife delivered a healthy baby with virtually no pain and the husband continued to experience no pain. She and her husband were ecstatic. When they got home they found the postman dead on their doorstep.. sorry about thatGot there in the end
  15. Why would you expect that at all . we after all looking at some blokes who Marry bar girls 30 and 40 years younger than they and even with the number of horror stories that abound on this forum, it still happens . there are, from personal knowledge, far more unsuccessful marriages than successful and some loved up Farang with a young bird whispering in his ear will buy her almost anything , except most of the younger and more marketable girls would not want to live there.
  16. Well it is a bit of a rant because they were trying and failing to sell them at 450000 just 3 years ago when the £ was much higher, and so was almost everybody else's, but in typical thai fashion when things don't sell put the price up. I had a similar response to a bar owner who measured his place, Soi 11 I think just past Soi Diana, including the outside eating area which he neither owned or rented and that space was as big as his actual bar restaurant. Now he the flat seller, might not like my take on his sale, you obviously don't, but others with less experience of Pattaya might just be glad of the heads up after all this is a forum not a commercial real estate site, so AFAIK the rules are different.
  17. I am not very adventurous about what I eat and cant stand tomatoes onions or any green veggies but looking at the burritos they do look nice can you self select the fillings they have or is it get whats on the menu and what is it they put in a burrito . I would really like to know but living in the UK we dont have burrito places , wel not than I know about. I love a good Kebab but I generally just have the meat and chilli sauce .
  18. I am not trashing the place simply saying what was told to me and what I have observed myself I have not been to Pattaya since 2017 so it may well have changed but I doubt it as its pretty much unchanged since my first visit to soi Arunthi back in 2003, so don't expect 2 years have made much difference to the place. If the poster said that Norwich was a great team I would take issue with that because from personal experience its not true and from observation its not true so why am I not allowed an opinion on something I have at least a passing experience of.
  19. Quite possibly but I have not stayed there in about 7 or 8 years and when I stayed there it was due mostly to the huge swimming pool and whilst it was a little run down it was for the most part quiet and no one had ever said to me that it had a bad rep , which is not the case with the Nirun . I used to go to the Shagwell on Arunthi for quiz nights and the lads in there were the ones who gave me the rundown ,no pun intended, on the Nirun.. Having said that I have never stepped over the boundary of the Nirun as the look of the place reminds me so much of a prison and it always seemed to have such disreputable looking characters lurking around the entrance, the security people I think and Moto taxi drivers..Now that might even be a description of myself from some peoples perspective but it's hard to change an opinion when I have never really heard anything good about the place other than from someone trying to either sell or rent out a condo. I have since my last visit /stay at the 9 karat used AirBnB and find that to be a much better fit from the point of view of renting short term as the places seem much newer and are better furnished and priced.. £300 a month sometimes even a little less, sometimes a great deal more it's up to you, as opposed to the 8500 baht per month I paid last time I stayed at the 9 karat, gets you a really great place in all kinds of rather good locations with no spurious deposits or extra charges for high priced electricity or expecting you to pay extra for wifi and sophon TV (was charged 500 baht for wifi and 250 baht for sophon which I didn't pay as I said they could disconnect it as I would never use it. .This has become a bit of a rant but I'm bored having been self isolated for 2 weeks with no Pattaya holiday to look forward too, I was planning on 2 months but am not in my first flush of youth or if I'm honest 3rd or 4th either and my health is not great either , with not movies , all closed no restaurants also closed no Ice hockey as they finished the season early and no World championship hockey as the cancelled that as well. I did have the Cricket season to look forward to with the new 100 series beginning My season pass and membership at Essex all looking a little less likely to go on I might just have topped myself from boredom before I ever get to go back to living my life.
  20. I am seriously not trying to be down on the Nirun but it does have a pretty bad rep whether some think it should or not and only a couple of years ago when the Baht was nearer 50 to the £ there were places being offered as low as 450,000 baht and were getting no takers so why the increase in prices when the market AFAIK is stagnant with a return of 5000 a month that's 60,000 baht a year and that's a very good return on investment if you can get tenants, but there lies the sticking point. The area is not the best and I have stayed in the 9 karat which is only a stones throw away and was quite happy there but would never consider Nirun.purely on its rep.
  21. You asked a question . Can they do it ?. I answered yes they can because its their currency to with as they see fit. when it happened to the British Pound is not the issue but that it happened because the labour government of the day wanted the pound devalued so it could export more and all debs in £s were also devalued though debts in other currencies were increased and imports fell as a result. If the Thais think their currency is overvalued then it will bring in imports and deter exports . Its not omething that politicians take lightly and in todays world it would be risky but they can if they wish.
  22. They can do whatever they like its their currency . It was done to the UK pound back in the 60s by the Wilson government. https://www.google.com/search?q=devaluation+of+the+English+pound&sxsrf=ALeKk001NRABJ8mMqw2LGCkAXSbYMgGr2Q:1584504107127&tbm=isch&source=iu&ictx=1&fir=HUvmNxPKMB7ZqM%3A%2C_UW4hC6jPhVUdM%2C_&vet=1&usg=AI4_-kQOqwYKRcY8vQ4Ki4jyFHQfeOwBlQ&sa=X&ved=2ahUKEwin6szjkaPoAhWIfMAKHd83B9oQ9QEwAHoECAoQAw#imgrc=HUvmNxPKMB7ZqM:
