How much cheaper can flights get ?. unless you mean the expensive end of the planes which so few of us have ever tasted, but seriously flying is so cheap now how do you make it cheaper.

I Have recently seen in the US a movie called , The Green Book, I have no interest in this movie other than I loved it and am urging all my friends and family to go see it. The Actors have faces I recognise but no big stars and the story is not action filled as is my general first requirement but this is bar none the best movie I have seen this or last year, I gave it 10/10

Hi All I see more and more adds for Voice translators and wondered , as many of those advertised get awful reviews, if anyone has one that works on the go, rather in a lab.and what you paid and is it worth the bother when you can just shout and wave your arms ?.

I remember many years ago standing outside a Parisien Cafe looking at the menu trying to work out what Omelette was in french. I really was standing there trying to come up with some word that included oeufs. Sometimes you just have to laugh.

I just wanted a 90 day visa with no running around for extensions or visa runs as the visa runs of yesteryear were horrific days spent travelling far to fast with no entertainment and extensions are just a bind and a lost few hours that seem a bit pointless.
-
Yes correct not B but O. I am sure I remember getting a 90 day visa for a 3 month stay and two 60 day visas with a visa run in between and a 14 day extension when I once stayed for 4 and a half months but I got a 90 day visa with no visa run or extension. this was around 10 years ago. From your post and my reading of the thai site it seems that the 90 day visa is no longer supplied. I actually want to stay 3 months over the summer JUNE, JULY, AUGUST.

Hi all It's been awhile since I stayed 3 or more months so not up on any new regs , but I used to get a 90 day non imm b visa are these still available. I am 67 when I get there next year. Any advice would be helpful as I emailed the Thai consulate in London and got no reply.

A teacher asks the kids in her 3rd grade class: "What do you want to be when you grow up?" LITTLE KEVIN SAYS: "I WANNA START OUT AS A MARINE PILOT, THEN BE A BILLIONAIRE, GO TO THE MOST EXPENSIVE CLUBS, FIND ME THE FINEST WHORE, GIVE HER A FERRARI WORTH OVER A MILLION BUCKS, AN APARTMENT IN COPACABANA, A MANSION IN PARIS, A JET TO TRAVEL THROUGHOUT EUROPE, AN INFINITE VISA CARD, AND ALL THE WHILE BANGING HER LIKE A LOOSE SCREEN DOOR IN A HURRICANE." THE TEACHER, SHOCKED, AND NOT KNOWING WHAT TO DO WITH THIS HORRIBLE RESPONSE FROM LITTLE KEVIN, DECIDES NOT TO ACKNOWLEDGE WHAT HE SAID AND SIMPLY TRIES TO CONTINUE WITH THE LESSON . . . . "And how about you, Sarah?" "I wanna be Kevin's whore."

If you ability to ride a Thai automatic bike is at all in question you should stay off 2 wheels and stick to four . Almost anyone can ride the small bikes if they can ride a push bike and if it takes you more than 5 minutes to get comfy on a 125 in thailand then bikes are not for you. AFAIK there are no centers like those you describe in Pattaya as no one seems to care about how well or badly riders can control their vehicles before letting them loose on the roads. Good Luck.

My wants are very simple, I have my clothes laundered a massage almost everyday shaves every other day and eat out almost all my meals, I don't drink alcohol ,dont smoke and am no longer chasing women other than the odd one now and again. The accommodation costs for some, out of the centre( I always hire a motorbike) very nice places, is very low and airfares can be had for under £400(paid £379 this year) I stayed 2 months, June/July and my total costs were under £3000, I actually took home £1200 in cash that I had budgeted for and never spent. I will continue to come as I love my summers in Thailand and will be back for 3 months next year with almost no regard for the state of either currency as its still a lower cost to me than actually staying home and I get a lot of "extras" in Pattaya Haven't been to Turkey in ages but when last I was there it was £10 notes they wanted and gave you change in LIra, you could change your £s almost anywhere and got more almost every day as inflation was horrendous back then. I also remember there was a charge to enter Turkey(£10) and that had to be paid in "hard" currency not lira. I still have a Million Lira note that I keep as a souvenir and that was worth about 90p . You would do well to look into the currency situation before you go to make sure you don't get ripped off by UK money changers as they all say no commission but give rates sometimes as much as 10% lower than the actual exchange rate you can get at your destination..

Under 300 Baht ... And Mediocre (Updated Jan. 15, 2020)
sinbinjack replied to Evil Penevil's topic in Restaurants and food
The post above was posted in the wrong thread , sorry about that but the Golf club I MK Metro is a great place to eat . -
Considering that you can buy a pineapple that has been prepared and bagged for 20 baht not really a great bargain as most pineapples are bigger than 1kg. I will add that in years gone bye there were times when whole pineapples were 10 baht each in Pattaya and 5 baht on the roadside out of town due to a glut of fruit.

Under 300 Baht ... And Mediocre (Updated Jan. 15, 2020)
sinbinjack replied to Evil Penevil's topic in Restaurants and food
I dont in general subscribe to food threads as I have no kind of special palate and am generally happy with most things put in front of me, well those things I chose because I like them. But I do love the food at the Golf Club in LK metro . I love the green curry and they do a great barbecue 3 nights a week . Now some of their meals are over the 300 but those meals I have seen big guys with big appetites take home doggie bags . The place cant be all that bad as I am sure most of its trade is from patrons of other bars who order their food at the golf club and delivered to other bars all over LK Metro by the very hard working girls and the BBQ guys is really good. Even as an admitted cheap charlie I find the food in the golf club to be wholesome tasty and economic if not the cheapest it is for me the best all round place to eat in fun town and I eat there 5 or 6 days a week when in town. Mind you I eat mainly their green Curry , which I think IS the best in town their burgers which are tasty and the BBQ chicken breasts and baked potatoes . -
As a quick aside or PS my electric and water for the first (very hot) month was 1925 baht and the second 1680 baht as it was charged at the government rate and no at all inflated by greedy folk.
-
It was a great stay I did rent a motorbike and it was on the first floor , at least the first floor that was not the ground floor. I am booking it again for next years 3 month stay.. I would recomend the place to anyone as it has everything needed for happy living .

you could try the Diana estate just along soi buakhao about 200M from LK metro

8 Months Total - 2 Entries (Tourist Visa) - Reporting?
sinbinjack replied to aldriglikvid's topic in Expat Issues
Hi guys a quick question as some of you seem to know that of which you write, can I still get a 90 day O visa that I got many years ago , as I want to stay for 3 months next year. I think I need that visa to get my driving licences renewed. -
Absolutely spot on.

If that was really the case then no one would ever book a condo . I find condos very much cheaper than even the cheapest hotels and in the case of really cheap hotels the quality of the condos is so much better. Where I am now I have 2 pools a steam room and a gym , a fairly big c ondo with a veranda and its quiet unlike the cheap hotels on soi buakhao which are often grubby extremely small and very noisy until very late. There are bad condos too but they are at least cheap even if not very appealing. In talking with some other renters in this place they were paying about 5000 a month more than I just for the extra cleaning twice a week that I could get for 300 baht a time. Not every place is all that great but good research will find good deals. PS. I have already decided on a 3 month stay here next year as its a great place at a great price.

Hi All, I am looking for a site that I can access in Pattaya so I can watch the late games on my TV not in a bar. Any help would be appreciated . I tried downloading a couple of free VPNs but they dont fool the BBc ITV or SKY.

Rent Condo from Day 1 - or a couple of weeks in?
sinbinjack replied to aldriglikvid's topic in Expat Issues
Try AirBnB if you want hassle free , many of the "hosts" are westerners who understand whats what and do not muck you about. My searches found a great deal of hosts who are very welcoming and at all price points. -
Renewing a thai licence(s)
sinbinjack replied to sinbinjack's topic in General Discussion about Pattaya
Thanks guys . I also want to know what forms I need . I think I can get the Residence thing and I will need a medical(?) form as well as a couple of pic . Is there anything else I need. I have my old expired licences as well. -
Hi All I just arrived yesterday and saw my condo for the first time. First I have to say ,its on Threpaya rather than threpassit but, notwithstanding the mistake I made in naming the street wrong , I actually knew where it was just got the street name mixed up, this place is beautiful. It has everything I could wish for and is hospital clean, probably won't be when I go home, and is extremely well equipped.Unless something strange happens, and this is Thailand after all so nothing is impossible ,I think I am going to be very happy here.I would recomend this place to anyone on the hunt. I always have a Bike and the walk to the main road is not really for anyone who is not great on their feet like myself and that could be a deal breaker for others , but that would so far seem to be it's only drawback.

Hi All , I have an out of date thai driving licence(s) , how do I go about renewing said licence(s). I have only a 60 day visa this year will this make a difference?. any help will be appreciated.

I have, since I last posted, booked what seems to be a great AirBnB place at a super price(£512), for two months just of Threpassit rd. I will be there on thursday morning and will update on the reality as opposed to the pictures. https://www.airbnb.co.uk/rooms/10533346
