  4. A female Miami Herald reporter, interviewing Florida Seminole Indian Chief Billie, asked the significance of the varied number of feathers in Indian headdresses. "Feathers show number of sexual partners," the chief replied. Pointing to a nearby young brave in a Chickee, he continued, "Him? One woman, one feather. Him?" pointing to a second, older man, "Three women, three feathers." The reporter looked at the Chief's headdress. "But you have so many feathers!" Chief Billie proudly slapped his chest. "Me Chief. Sleep with all women. Big, small, fat, tall." Horrified, the female reporter said, "You ought to be hung!" Chief Billie replied, "Damn right. Me hung big like buffalo, long like snake." The offended reporter said, "You don't have to be hostile!" The Chief replied, "Hoss-style, dog-style, wolf-style, any style!" The reporter cried, "Oh, dear!" "No deer," said Chief Billie. "Ass too high, run too fast."
  5. I well remember drinking Boone's Farm Apple wine in the 80s, and that tasted great, but I have never heard of the rose, was this an American thing only?.
  6. I started a KFC only diet and no one believed I would succeed but I lost 10 lbs in a week .
  7. Why when Heathrow is a very expensive airport to land at , is the fare larger when its from Other airports?.
  8. With an agent. Travel Trolley
  9. Just booked a flight with Oman Air for 2 months june -july £370 1 stop with a 2 hour layover. Seemed like a good price to me . Can anyone tell me what the skinny is with Oman Air, I read some reviews that were not at all bad.
  10. I should add that most of my electricity is generated by my own solar panels and that keeps my costs down. Can I do this on my standard laptop? and where do you learn ? websites or what?. I used to be connected to SETI years ago and that never seemed to impact my power bill.
  11. r-con_blueocean@hotmail.com monthly 7990 baht its on soi buakhao + water and electric You could try the 9 Karat condo on soi arunthi , google it, thats around 10000 a month plus the utilities . both places have pools but the 9 karat has a giant pool thats great for laps.

  13. Honestly anytime is a good time. I usually get there later and just go to bed s I am usually knackerd from my flight. The one time I arrived late and went out I picked my lady for the night and was too tired to complete, but I am an older man.
  14. Even after all the "explanation" I still have no idea about this. How can a computer use so much power its uneconomical? my computer uses minimal power , probably less than £50 a year as my total bill is under £300 a year. Can someone post a link that might explain this process in a manner a luddite like myself might understand.
  15. Loads of places do this , but for you to get any reliable answers you need to tell us where what and how much you want to pay. Some go for 5000 a month or even less if you want a thai style no AC room . or the sky's the limit if you want luxury. reasonable cheap rooms start at around 10000 baht a month and go up from there.
  16. Don't sweat it too much as if you have reached the ripe old age of 60, then you will have enough sense to look before you leap. Pattaya is that sort of town where everything your mother said about bad places is both true , because its an adult Disneyland, and untrue because it won't kill you or send you to hell, but you will enjoy yourself . I will be there in your break as I am going from may to the end of July but again don't sweat it there are so many blokes our age around you will not lack a drinking buddy. I would say watch how much you drink as its easy there in the heat to drink beer like soda and to be semipermanently pickled. First rule Don't fall in love , with "a" girl, there are too many to waste yourself on only one. Second rule , only for the straight guys, look closely that very beautiful girl may not be. There are very few tall Thai ladies, but many short Thai ladyboys. Ask if worried they dont judge . When in town message me and we can have a drink or a meal as I don't drink, and I can always give a heads up of what's happening. One more rule never change your cash or TCs before you get here and avoid if at all possible changing at the airport. All banks and money changers in Pattaya give better rates than anywhere else, and the difference can be quite large depending on how much cash you change. I am told they don't like some denominations of some cash but I need to find out more , maybe someone will enlighten us on this thread.
  17. Horse is in the pub having a few, spots a donkey in the corner. So he nips over to have a natter, donkey asks "what did you do for a living?" Horse says " I ran on the flat in the summer and over the jumps in the winter". Donkey says "I worked with the kids on Blackpool beach. Did you win anything?" Horse says "yeah on the flat I won the St. Leger and the Derby and over the jumps I won the Grand National and the Gold Cup” They arrange to meet at the donkey's house a week later, donkey thinks, "I need to impress this guy, he's done everything". So he buys a big picture of a zebra and hangs it above the fireplace. Horse arrives and says "Lovely place you have here, who's that in the picture on the wall?" Donkey replies "Oh, that's me when I played for Newcastle United."
  18. Top marks.
  19. Born Glasgow 10/12/1951 went to london easter 1969- 1988 now live in Chelmsford essex I understood every bleedin word .
  20. There is little to worry about as a first timer, the normal travel rules apply here just as they do everywhere so remember this is a third world country even if the big cities have skyscrapers and fancy hotels, the general run of folk are dirt poor . Dont worry too much about things before you get here and don't sweat the little things as you will be able to make your time here in un town a great time on what for us westerners is a little money. Food is what you want to make of it , as you can eat very cheap or cheap and good as well as very good food at reasonable prices or pretty crap food at awfully high prices . Look and learn don't be afraid to ask and don't believe all that is told to you by strangers. Prices for companionship start at 500 baht, ST, on beach rd, 1000 baht in some bars and can be anything when you take a dancing girl from a gogo but it all depends on the girl the location the time of year and the willingness of yourself to pay the asking price. Don't forget the bar fine when in a bar they can sometimes be larger than you think. All asking prices are negotiable and negotiating is expected . If you are young handsome and slim then the prices will probably be a little lower , if on the other hand you are old fat and no oil painting then negotiation is the only thing between you and poverty that ot beach road . Enjoy you holiday and read this forum a lot , I did before my first trip many years ago and I found the answers generally reliable and accurate, but always helpful.
  21. From my point of view the relative profit making one airport over another is less than nothing to me . I want to fly from the most convenient airport and Stansted is by far my most convenient airport ,being around 21 miles from my front door, whilst Gatwick is 62 miles and Heathrow is 67. Southend is nearer at only 18 but doesn't have flights to my chosen destinations. The one caveat is that being a real bargain hunter I would put convenience behind cost as a factor in my choice of flights and unless the price was nearly the same I would continue to use the cheapest "convenient" carrier and airport, but purely geographically stansted is the most convenient for me.
  22. You may call it a bun or a roll but we call it a bread roll in the UK as it is made of "bread" of one kind or another but it is always a "bread" roll, to distinguish it from other kinds of rolls.
  23. If you want to swim in the sea , then you must go to Koh Larn. I have been a few times to the far side of the island and the water is clean and clear. at least it was the last time I went but that was 9/10 years ago. I now only swim in the pools that are in the places I stay. Not for any minor amount of cash would I swim in either Pattaya or Jomtien.
  24. it takes me less than 30 minutes to get to Stansted and I live in Chelmsford . against 1.5 hours to get to heathrow on almost any day and much longer if I fly anywhere near the rush hour. for me the cost of flying from the local airport would be much less if the flight costs are the same. I can Taxi to stansted for around £30-£35 but can get stung up to £120 for heathrow. If you want to avoid the drop off fee then get dropped in the carpark and take the free bus to the terminal.
  25. I was looking at an eva flight from end may to end july a couple of days ago and the price quoted to me was £486
