Thoughts on swimming in the water
sinbinjack replied to simplelife's topic in General Discussion about Pattaya
If you want to swim in the sea , then you must go to Koh Larn. I have been a few times to the far side of the island and the water is clean and clear. at least it was the last time I went but that was 9/10 years ago. I now only swim in the pools that are in the places I stay. Not for any minor amount of cash would I swim in either Pattaya or Jomtien. -
it takes me less than 30 minutes to get to Stansted and I live in Chelmsford . against 1.5 hours to get to heathrow on almost any day and much longer if I fly anywhere near the rush hour. for me the cost of flying from the local airport would be much less if the flight costs are the same. I can Taxi to stansted for around £30-£35 but can get stung up to £120 for heathrow. If you want to avoid the drop off fee then get dropped in the carpark and take the free bus to the terminal.

A Halloween story for you: A cabbie picks up a Nun......She gets into the cab, and notices that the VERY handsome cab driver won't stop staring at her. She asks him why he is staring. He replies: 'I have a question to ask you but I don't want to offend you.' She answers, 'My son, you cannot offend me. When you're as old as I am and have been a nun as long as I have, you get a chance to see and hear just about everything. I'm sure that there's nothing you could say or ask that I would find offensive.' 'Well, I've always had a fantasy to have a nun kiss me.' She responds, 'Well, let's see wha

I have just booked my AirBnB trip to Hungary for april , having been to Belfast last april , Both Ice Hockey world Championships. and as far as I can see the economics in both those places is far better than the economics of the places I looked at in Pattaya. whilst I have in no way exhausted all the places in Pattaya , from my short searches so far it seems that the prices are higher on AirBnB than in person, but I will update you if I find that to be erroneous.

First time to Pattaya
sinbinjack replied to starbuck1968's topic in General Discussion about Pattaya
Not wishing to get too involved in this discussion But in my 8 trips to Thailand I spent only 2 days in Bangkok on my very first visit. Not being a person that finds buildings much more than someplace to get out of the rain I found it boring in the extreme and having then gone to Pattaya I have never since set foot in Bangkok in the 2 years total I have spent in Thailand. Bangkok may be a great city for some but for me it's too big and so much dirtier than I like and the traffic makes it a terrible place to get around. -
Best time of year to go to Pattaya?
sinbinjack replied to Tucker_69er's topic in General Discussion about Pattaya
I have only ever been in "low" season and have in the past suffered through Songkran, you are making the right choice to miss it, your budget will go a long way in funtown at any time of year , as I would expect 2/3 months in a condo for that kind of money. There are better offers on flights in the off season as well as better prices for hotels . The weather can be a lot wetter after july but as it rains mostly at night , who cares Low season also means there is a wider choice of ladies as there is less competition for their services and that can also mean less cost. If you have never been bef -
My chilli recipe is pureed onions ,about half a pound, lean ground beef about 5 pounds and pretty much the same amount of chilli beans, I love chilli beans, two small ,100ml, cans of tomato puree, 6 oxo cubes, half a bottle of red wine, large spoonful of ground black pepper, large spoonful of cayenne pepper, very large spoonful chilli powder add water to cover the mixture and simmer for about 30/35 minutes. Eat as much as you want and freeze the rest . Is great with baked potato or even crusty bread, is also great just on its own. Haven't made any in awhile but having written this I am going to

Hotel balcony falls - suicide or accident?
sinbinjack replied to Yujin's topic in Hotel and Accommodation Questions
Didn't I read once about a suicide who was wearing a hood and had his hands tied behind his back?. -
I am definitely trying that , minus the mushrooms.

Is that just a breast wrapped in bacon and cooked in the oven?

There's a really good kebab stall right on the corner of south pattaya road and second road , no more than 2 or three doors up south Pattaya road, that does both chicken and lamb kebabs at 80 baht . I got very fond of that stall for late night snacks , they have a sit down bit inside but the kebabs are outside.

Extremely well thank you , with the added cheddar it was great ,in fact so great I have another on sitting in my fridge as I type, but I will say that without the extra cheese it would not have been as good , as it had very little cheese originally . I have of course a small bag of grated cheese in the fridge as well. and for the price of £6.50 ,including the extra cheese , it is a great value meal and very tasty. PS the stuffed crust could use some more cheese but you can't have everything at that price. PPS , I should make the point that the tescos I am referring to is the UK tesco and n

With me there was no ask for a deposit , but I did book it late about 2 weeks before My arrival . in my case they effectively gave me 2 days notice as I had been on holiday with no internet and got the email increasing the price 48 hours or so before I left for Pattaya. I would recomend anyone to go elsewhere because these gits can not be trusted , and in my opinion twice is a pattern not an accident.

I love a thick stuffed crust with nothing but cheese and pepperoni and occasionally some sausage . I have a tesco pizza in my fridge at this moment and plan on having it , with some extra cheese for my evening meal, not had one like this before so I hope its good and at £4.50 its a bargain because its stuffed crust and a large so even the extra £2 for grated mature cheddar wont break the bank

Why would you use a hotel that charges 1200 baht a day if it has no pool or frills. there are loads of no frills or pool places for half or less that amount.

Maxx central condos just of 3rd rd
sinbinjack replied to sinbinjack's topic in Hotel and Accommodation Questions
I fully expected to pay for the electricity and water but the amount was shocking and the fact that they charged 9 Baht a unit was also shocking , but more shocking was the almost immediate reduction by half when I questioned it. I have found this kind of attitude in other places in Pattaya but after the really good service I got on arrival and before, I was quite shocked by the callous nature of the con , and con I believe it was . The problem for them was I had not left at this point so had not given anyone their tips I would on the last day , so no one got a tip at all.. -
I posted the following after a poor showing by the Chabba Hut on Soi Buakhow, also has a post on this forum, . "I am staying at the Maxx Central just off 3rd road, you can google it, and their attitude could not be further from the Chaba huts. I arrived at 9 last night and was shown to my room by the "porter" , who carried my bags and was told I could pay tomorrow . I was a little concerned about the room as it was much larger than I expected ,having a separate bedroom but on checking with the receptionist this morning I was told OK its an upgrade for same price. If I was techie enoug

I'm glad I'm not the only one who likes it as my tastes are limited to only a few things that I eat regularly and this place deals with my limited requirements very well. I now think that it does well with others with less limited requirements if only from these few replys who all think the same as me. I hope the place does well as I hate having to mooch around looking for a decent place to eat.
