  1. Was something supposed to happen ? I got nothing.
  2. For those like me who read from the top and right to left, start at the bottom as they are in a date order it took me a while to figure out. They make a little more sense that way . I enjoyed them even if I started at the end and worked back.
  3. It just goes to show the differences in tastes because I have tasted "Iced Tea" and it was horrible, I like my tea hot strong and with milk as well as a sweetener of some kind. As for drinking it on a hot day, a hot cup of tea will actually cool you down much better than any cold drink, as has been scientifically proven.
  4. In the UK its almost unheard of. Why would you let tea get cold never mind putting ice in it , its like putting ice in beer, which is already 99.9% water. PS. what kind of tea is used?, is it dark African full of tannins, Light Indian, aromatic Chinese's, is it a breakfast mix, a fruit blend or even a herbal mix?.
  5. I have to say it was more the social aspect that I liked as I could go there at any time and there was always someone I had met or talked to before, I spent an awfully long time in that particular place, so it will be harder to replace the venue than to replace the food. Its very like an old bar I used to frequent further along Soi Buakhow Called the Pineapple bar, it has not closed , at least I don't think it has, but the staff changed and all the regulars that made it such a jolly place to spend your time all went their separate ways. Which was shame because I spent many late nights in there or out on the terrace (sidewalk)putting the world to rights with some good old boys. I also picked up some great girls going home past the bar after a night in their own bar , saving the bar fine and still having a great night. The Pineapple was strictly a food and drink joint so no problem for them.
  6. Has anyone eaten there lately? I used to eat there all the time but have not been to Pattaya for almost 4 years and am returning next year, During that time the owners wife Nee has died and Roy has returned to England as he was not well. I was told that the restaurant was passed to family of Nee's and I want to know if its still as good as it used to be ,because I had one friend tell me it had gone down hill, and that would sadden me quite a bit as it was always my default eatery, as well as a place to socialise.
  7. I have not stayed there for a long time possibly 8-9 years and I am sure that on reflection the music was coming from the large Gym owned by, I think, Tony The Thai /US guy everyone seems to hate. The music sounded like it was from outdoor speakers and it was very loud.
  8. Having seen the pic I recognise that as a place I have stayed in the past . I left quite quickly as the noise from a nearby bar was ear splitting and the accommodation whilst clean was very small as was the pool.
  9. I used to come on a 90 day "o" visa but I don't think they do those any longer . If they do is that enough to get my 5 year licence.
  10. I thought this was the funnies section?. No matter how bizarre this is it definitely not funny , and I don't have any idea who the guys is, so I have no axe to grind, but it is not funny.
  11. The last time I was in Pattaya I got both my car and bike licence , unfortunately that was almost 5 years ago so My 1 year licence has run out . does anyone know if I can get a 5 year licence next Spring or must I get another 1 year licence. I will probably be on a 60 day visa.
  12. Unfortunately I had a problem with a drunken KIWI, who was part of the tenants association at the Diana estates and I am no longer able to stay there because I complained that the pool was dirty and he took offence when I told him his story of the cause of the green mould was not rainwater runoff but a dirty filter bed. The fact that it was a dirty filter and it had to be dug up and replaced (sand and gravel bed) did not make him apologise but led to me being banned , long after I had gone home but before my next booking. I would have been a regular there all that time as I spent 4 very good years staying there for upwards of 4 months a year. I miss the place very much as I had made a few friends who went there every year. I used Pro Pro there and I was always well cared for by the ladies who ran the office and the cleaning ladies were very good about little extras, like towels and pillows, they even let me store stuff in a closet so I didn't need to carry it home or buy new every year.
  13. I think he might have thought , like I did that it was am item of clothing , as we in Scotland referred to T-Shirts as sloppy Joes when I was a child over 50 years ago.
  14. There prices are a bit rich for me as they start at 30,000 baht + a month, and go above 50,000 baht.
  15. Does the price include cleaning and linen?. I suppose there is a water and electric charge on top , so can you tell me what the charges are, and are there any strange exemptions.
  16. I passed Maxx central many times its near the football field IIRC , but I did not think it had a pool.
  17. Wanted, condo or hotel 10-12,000 baht monthly with pool. I want to be in Pattaya not Jomtiem and I come from May to July so low season. I want something cheap but clean and I will as usual have a motorbike so can be out as far as 3rd road but not as far as the dark side. I don't drink so driving home at night is not a problem. I have not been for almost 5 years so am well out of the loop as far as good places go, and the last place I went(9 karat condo) was getting a little grubby around the edges, so any help would be appreciated. Thanks all
  18. I have not stayed at the Diana estates for 5 years a least and have no idea what the Pro Pro number is now ,but I am sure a Google will find it if they are still in business.
  19. I love a roast dinner but I only really enjoy Turkey dinners . Here in the UK all the carvery's do turkey all the time ,but can I get a roast dinner in Pattaya with Turkey ,out of season as it were?.
  20. Does the price include cleaning and bed changing?. what are the low season costs? ,as I come only after April for a couple of months.
  21. I have no idea what this is , please explain.
  22. A sadist, a masochist, a murderer, a necrophile, a zoophile and a pyromaniac are all sitting on a bench in a mental institution, bored out of their minds. "How about having sex with a cat?" asked the zoophile. "Let's have sex with the cat and then torture it," says the sadist. "Let's have sex with the cat, torture it and then kill it," shouted the murderer. "Let's have sex with the cat, torture it, kill it and then have sex with it again," said the necrophile. "Let's have sex with the cat, torture it, kill it, have sex with it again and then burn it," said the pyromaniac. Silence took over... and the masochist says: "Meow."
  23. Excellent.
  24. I am not personally all that football crazy as I was a Hockey player, but football played by professional players is a far cry from the football you played as a kid. The intensity of the game is huge and requires much more fitness than American football which only requires effort in 30 second rushes whilst a footballer at the top of his game will run 12-14 Kilometres in an hour and a half which is much farther than any American Footballer ever runs in a month of games. If you want to compare sports then compare like with like and that would mean comparing grid iron to Rugby and rugby is faster meaner and has almost no protective gear at all. The problem is that as rugby players don't play grid iron we will never see which is truly better but I for one will believe that Rugby is by far the harder sport for men and some of those men are gay , so get over it or get trampled in the ruck.
  25. Sorry about that I have no idea now how I came up with the £10000 figure when I first looked at it, I must have had a brain fart. As you say at the real price its what I would expect to pay in Thailand's inflated second hand market. But honestly I could not find a minibus for sale over 16 years old on eBay UK, and that was a 17 seater priced at £1000
