Yes it is girl friendly and in a good location although can be a little noisey. Standard rate is high for what you get, in my opinion.

Martin. No, I never got any reply using this method. I tried twice and waited a week each time. I eventually contacted them just using their normal email address and was booked within 2 days. Roll on 21st October.

Majestic Suites is nice and very close to NEP. The rooms are not the biggest but always clean and secure. Book early as they are VERY popular.

I flew this route with Lufthansa a couple of years ago. From memory it was between 5 and 6 thousand baht. Don't know if they are still flying this route though.

Latest update on the saga of trying to make a reservation in the LK Metropole. I received an e-mail from 'Jad' a day early which I thought was a good sign. Unfortunately this was not the case. Included with the e-mail was an attachment with what I assumed would be the form to complete with my card details and fax back to her. I stayed in the Metropole for 13 nights last month and it was great. I contacted them via e-mail requesting the FLB rate and received a reply a few days later from 'Chokita' with an enclosed attachment of a form to fill out with my details and fax back to them to confirm my reservation and payment of 2000 thb deposit. Easy as that. I've now been trying to book again for next February and after over 4 weeks and 6 e-mails from 'Jad', some of which don't make much sense, I'm no further forward. I'm waiting for a reply from this place with regards to a stay next February. Anybody in town with time to kill willing to see if the rooms are up to scratch for me and whether they're girl friendly? I'll reward them with a beer or two for their trouble next Feb.

Why not try the Majestic Grande? Same owners as Majestic Suites.

It's fine. Just use your common sense and don't go into dark alleys etc. in the dark, just stick to the busier tourist areas. The skytrain stops at 11 or 12, I can't remember which and will be busy right up until it stops running so no problems there.
