Just returned home after a 2 week stay at The Haven Hotel. Yes the rooms are abit tired but plenty of space, big comfy double bed, decent bathroom with powerful shower, ok aircon and 3 speed fan too which gave you the option of best temperature for me and TGF. Sink in bathroom was blocked on my arrival but within 30 mins of reporting it it was sorted. Never had any problems with noise from kids or other guests who were mainly guys like me in their 50-60's. As far as I'm aware never met the owner but had emails b4 arriving, I think I met the owners wife, or at least classy thai

alpeaco replied to PattayaPete's topic in Bars/Gogos/Business Owners' Forum
looks a good place and can't wait to try it out when i arrive in a couple of weeks, good food, beer, setting and location is what i'm after, and it seems to tick all the right boxes as i've got a long time TG i'll not be taking advantage of the girls, unless i get a pass out or two see you soon Al -
Not back in Pattaya 'til end of Feb so will miss the party, but hope everything goes off well. I've never met Dave but will certainly be paying a good few visits late Feb to mid March, it's my kind of bar and my kind of music, keep it up mate. Al

Can recommend Areca Lodge, stayed there last November, good rooms, in room safe, 2 super pools, breakfast included for 2 people (though only made it once due to very late nights). Found it girl friendly, no bad service toward my TG's. Don't know about charge for 2 girls, but had no problems with 1 girl picking up her ID before going for lunch and seeing her off, then returning to 'check' in another girl within 1 hour, no charge asked for though a few disapproving looks. Tried to book again for next month but fully booked, so staying at Sabai Resort near Big C. Al

Hi there Alex, Never been to your bar before, but as we are staying just round the corner at Areca Lodge were planning to pop in for a drink or two after we arrive next Sunday. Love a curry so we'll kill 2 birds with 1 stone and join you on Friday 9th November. There'll be 3 of us, myself, surry (another BM) and a newbie coming to LOS for the 1st time. In fact it's odds on we'll be in for a drink before then, so we'll see you when we see you. Al

Me and a couple of mates are staying there from 4th November and had difficulty getting reservations direct with Areca Lodge. However one of my mates has stayed there before and fancied it again, so not to be defeated we tried via sawadee.com and managed to get three rooms for the same period at a cheaper rate than quoted by the hotel itself, result. Assuming of course that when we get there we don't find it double booked. Al

Just found a 'you tube' of Hot Tuna bar, presumably the one on Walking Street but can't be certain as I've never been there before, not that I can recollect anyway, but I could have been pissed and not remember!! Will soon be there to try it out for sure. Al

I'll be coming out to LOS with Surry and another mate in a couple of weeks and we'll be paying the Hot Tuna bar a visit. A girl he knows from another bar has moved to the Hot Tuna so he needed to find out where it was. If there are some hot TG's there as well that means me and my other mate should be well catered for too. Not long to lift off, here's counting down. Al

SOI L.K. METRO (CENTRAL PATTAYA)
alpeaco replied to mulphy's topic in Bars/Gogos/Business Owners' Forum
Nice report Mulphy. Sounds OK this Soi LK Metro, so have every intention of paying it a visit, and hopefully the Rockhouse too, when I visit in Feb. However as I've only been to PTY the once last Feb I have a big list of places to visit, inc. Soi 6. Will try my best to drink and monger in as many bars as I can. Al -

Super pics Hammer. Didn't visit Dollhouse on my 1st trip to PTY earlier this year, but with honies like that I'll certainly be paying a visit next Feb on my return to paradise. Got to BF one of these stunners. Al -

Might be me, but when the new airport (suvarnabhumi?) opens will the old one co-exist or close down? If there will be just one obviously all flights to Bangkok will be the new airport, but if two airports how do you know which one you'll be flying to? Assuming of course new airport is classed as Bangkok. Info much appreciated. Cheers Al

How many times do you have to fly to qualify for frequent flyer/loyalty programmes? More than once a year? Is it easy to join? Any advice welcome for a newcomer to the delights of LOS. Cheers Al

Just booked for next Feb '07 with Emirates as best price I could get. Qatar prices were great up to Nov '06 but not for next year. Which was a blow as I flow with them this year and thought they were excellent. As a novice how do you get registered as a regular flyer and how many flights per year are required to qualify? Any advice welcome. Cheers Al
-
As someone not in the know, when the new airport opens will the old one close? Or will they operate 2 airports eg. London Heathrow & Gatwick? Just a thought! Cheers Al
-
Paul, Just gone to last posts so I may have missed answer to my query. Are you taking bookings for Feb '07 and if not when would you do so? Cheers Al
-
Thanks to all for the info. Much appreciated. Ticket cost £425 which was cheapest I could get for next Feb '07. Could have got much cheaper if flying in next few months. This is first time I've booked independtly on internet for long haul, so haven't the bottle to wait 'til nearer date for possible cheaper flight. Cheers Al

Cheers Braveheart. Hopefully that means i've not got an outdoor seat! Al

Visited Thailand & Pattaya for 1st time this year on package holiday. Great time, loved it. Just booked for 1st time on internet under my own steam for next Feb '07. Flights via Opodo site, economy on Emirates MAN to BKK. Confirmation states economy restricted. Anybody know if this means dodgy seating (Boeing 777)? Also booked suite at Residence Gardens. Any feedback appreciated. Al
