  1. never stayed at lord nelson and never had the urge, but have stayed at queen vic and had nothing but praise, decent rooms, facilities, food and reasonably priced, with vic being a good host, plus not far to stumble back after enjoying the ladies on soi 6 hahahaha cheers al
  2. stayed there in march and was my 3rd visit to the hotel. always liked the place and has been said great if you like lazing by the pool, with all 3 pools having nice settings. in march stayed at a type b villa at the top end, very secluded and the noise from hollywood disco round the back never bothered me as once in the room couldn't hear anything. always been girl friendly and still no problem when taking 2 girls back, if you have a regular girl can arrange with reception not to bother with leaving id. one of the reasons i like staying there is it's next to big c, so plenty of sh

  8. have looked at the reviews and done a search but can't find any info on the lk mansion hotel just off soi buakhow near to central road, or perhaps it's me and i can't find them been on their website and the pics, facilities and room rates seem very good, maybe too good for the price of 800 baht with reductions for weekly/monthly stays? any info good or bad much appreciated cheers al
  9. staying at the billabong (1st time so hope it's ok ) for 21 nights so will be visiting champagne agogo as well as many other establishments and flb bar crawls so maybe bump into you, have a great time with the building work going on during my stay vic offered to move me to another room if noise was too much and kept me up to press with how things were going on a regular basis, seemed very obliging to me and bought me a few beers as recompense which wasn't needed yes the guard always checked all my girls id's keeping them to be reclaimed later from either him or the bar follow
  10. stayed there in march and had a good time , they were doing some building work taking over next door and adding more rooms but that should be all sorted by now still good value, good food and great location have a great time, i'm over again myself in november but staying on lk metro this time but not 'cos of any problems with the queen vic, vic himself is a top guy al
  11. was a blood donor for 30 years plus donating 66 pints but then i had heart surgery in late 2003 and what with the medication was forbidden from donating again, which was a kick in the bollocks at the time then in 2006 i finally found thailand and after having sex with many thai ladies and what with contacting gonnorhea and chlamydia during that time i definately know they'd never ever want my blood again, not that i'd fucking give them any al
  12. not a fan of mekhong whisky myself so no problem for me, will stick to the jack daniels when i aint drinking beer al
  13. have been to pattaya the past few novembers but always missed loy krathong but thankfully this year i'll be there for it at last and hopefully it meets up to expectations the only question is do i spend it with one of my regular girls or do i find a new one al
  14. Great news! Think I'll go down the same route, tend to use the ATM's in Big C anyway and have often used the Kasikorn bank on the 2nd floor. Will still take about £1000 in £20's and pay this into the bank if nothing has changed and it's easy to open an account . Have debit cards and credit cards as back up for extra cash withdrawals and other purchases (devils den ) Less than 7 weeks to take off now bring it on . Al
  15. i was on holiday last year in june with surry when he contacted dengue fever and visited him in hospital back in sheffield, he was really rough and it took him a few weeks to get back to normal, luckily never caught it myself ever since have always used mozzie spray with at least 50 per cent deet, can get same from boots pharmacy (boots jungle strength) in uk and thailand, a bonus is that it's not sticky but feels comfortable and smells ok too, thinks it's about 400 baht a time only time have been bitten since was twice during day from same beach road cafe that had a water feature b
  16. thanks dude just been on their website which looks quite impressive and gives the impression the roof top pool is part of the same building better still room rates are now 800 baht and weekly rate seems to work out at 643 baht per night??? but you have to pay in full at booking on credit card? have already booked now for my stay but will pop in to the lk mansion and try and have a look at the rooms and facilities when i'm there in november cheers al
  17. booked direct with etihad myself for £495 flying out in november, but another mate booked on friday night flying from manchester on 28th august returning 26th sept, again direct with etihad for £460 and with good connecting flights, travelsupermarket had £452 for same flights using netflight but with % add ons for credit cards would have been more expensive than etihad all in all good deals for a good airline cheers al
  18. been on their website and sent 'em an email saying I'm staying 21 nights in november, promotions end 30th sept and best rates they quoted me were 1200 for standard room and 1400/1600 for superior room, maybe you get special repeat rates as previous customer. if they'd quoted me 880 baht i'd have booked, but they didn't and i booked elsewhere paying 850 baht for better room but no pool hence the post al
  19. superior room in flipper lodge quoted at 1400 or 1600 dependent on view, i can get a better room for 850 baht in lk metro, only thing missing is the pool, but we all pay the money and make the choice chivas . as for motors and taxis never use 'em shanks pony is cheaper, lk metro walk 50 metres get a baht bus on soi bukhaow south to walking street area or 2nd road outside kiss foods and a 2 min walk on return journey or heading north. i can then spend more money on beer and girls , but i'm still a cheap charlie at heart cos i'm from yorkshire . cheers al
  20. thanks, i stayed at areca lodge a few years ago and thought you could use the pool as a guest but didn't know the charge and if they still did it, will certainly give it a go when i fancy abit of sunbathing and a few lengths of the pool cheers al
  21. thanks lantern the pool looks good on the photos but hope the weather is better when i'm there never been a big fan of mike's shopping mall as a shopping centre but at 80 baht i'll be giving the pool a go cheers al
  22. am returning to pattaya in november for 21 nights flight already booked - looking to book apartment in lk metro area obviously without a pool and was wondering if anybody has used the swimming pool on top of mike's shopping mall recently (if it's still open?) and can give me any info on cost, cleanliness etc - planning to visit pattaya park but only once also any pools at hotels that they allow non-residents to use for a fee? areca lodge? any advice welcome guys cheers al
  23. Passenger numbers down for Etihad??? Flew out to BKK with them in November for £377 my lowest ever fare so can't be down to prices??? Al
  24. Paid £377 to fly out last November (Manchester to BKK via Abu Dhabi) with Etihad , but current prices for them are above £600 , so paid £518 for same trip via Dubai with Emirates flying out in March . Can't imagine paying less than £400 again . Al
  25. As my mate Surry said I've just returned after a 3 week stay and I found it a top class choice for the money. Prompt replies via email with Bill (BJ) b4 I got there and my request for a top floor room was met (6th floor), reception staff friendly and helpful, no joiner fees (more than 1 girl?) security man (Pong) was top guy, maids good, rooms very clean and tidy, super shower, plenty of power points in room, decent tv, plenty of wardrobe/drawers space, decent and cheap food, good location about 100 metres from beach road and baht buses. If I was really nit picking, no vanity light on
