Thai Royal First, Bangkok to Frankfurt
chuckrivera replied to Evil Penevil's topic in Airline Discussion
Not to hijack, but since you didn't get photos of your seat, I'll add some of mine. Same Royal First, only different leg. -
For black ink, 3 x 3cm, approx 10k baht over the course of a year (10 - 12 visits). Darkness of skin is a factor on what kind of mark is left, commonly a white impression where the tattoo used to be. Different color inks require different wavelength lasers, some more painful than others. Everybody I know that has had this done has said it is significantly more painful than the actual tattoo. This includes one friend that had a full shoulder/arm piece removed so he could have it redone. His shoulder was constantly swollen and tender for a week after each treatment. My only advice is if

Kudos to Waiters on Wheels and/or Punch and Judy

At first glance, I thought you were going to write that you opened up the box to find a half-eaten sandwich! But thumbs up to both places for making it right. -
It's back now.

Rain was heavy in north Pattaya, coming sideways for about an hour. Wind was so strong, a couple signs next to Living Bistro were knocked over. Power was in and out here until about 2 am.

Yeah, I noticed that too, but left it alone. I've had my PCX for over a year now, and have yet to hit my 4,000k service. Now that I think about it, my 2.5 year old Elegance has yet to hit 6,000km either.

Six months old with 6k on the clock is not new. Just saying.

Two Systemwides expire end of January; I have a third for sale that expires end of March. Two Regionals expire end of April, two more expire end of September. PM Sent.

I have two Systemwide and four Regional Upgrades on United to sell if anybody is interested. Systemwide Upgrades are good to any destination, Regional Upgrades are good within the US.

Read my review (post #18 in this thread) from just over a week ago, two full months after Dale bought the place. He doesn't serve the items as they are listed in the menu (missing ingredients, seasonings, tec.), nor does he serve anything that could plausibly pass for Mexican. Fact. From less than two weeks ago. -

I ate there last week after taking an 18 month break from the place. I stopped eating there because the items I ordered were never in stock. Last week, I had the Taco Salad and a burger. The burger was so-so, not terrible, but not any better than the other places on the street; basically meatball consistency as opposed to burger consistency. The Taco Salad with chicken however, was abominable. None of the "Mexican" ingredients listed on the menu were in the salad, including re-fried beans or black olives. The chicken had NO taco seasoning at all; it was just shredded overcooked chicke -
I frequent them quite often. The noise is not a problem.

A little after 11 pm. Has nothing to do with the 2 am closures.

They were out at the Thai places on Third Road last night.

Soi Metro/Soi Bukhao Guest Houses
chuckrivera replied to Cookie Monster's topic in Hotel and Accommodation Questions
Haven't heard good reviews about Pasadena, only some quite bad ones about the staff actually. In order, I would try Metro Apartments, Billabong or Irish Rovers. -
^ Yeah, that is exactly my prior experience as well. USPS International Express was almost always exactly one calendar week. @ Jacko. When you track on the USPS site, it stops at at outbound customs. If you look on Thai Post and track there, you can see when it enters the country and leaves BKK Customs. Have only had about 50% success with this, sometimes the package is delivered before the Thai site is updated.

Right now I am waiting on an EMS letter sent from the UK sent out 26 July. We'll see how long it takes to show up.

Before April, I was getting two or three packages sent a month by USPS. It was almost clockwork, USPS Express (EMS) took one calendar week and USPS Priority mail took two weeks, almost to the day. Hadn't had one more than a day or two off, and had no boxes go missing, nor any of them opened by Thai Customs. Some got hit for duty without being opened, but surprisingly, most didn't Since the Red Shirt stuff kicked off in April, I have had one Express package go completely missing (they claim it never entered the country), two Express packages seized, three Priority packages opened and res

Award ticket availability November-December
chuckrivera replied to BigDUSA's topic in Airline Discussion
Yes, that's correct, the majority of their Saver Award seats are allotted to 1K and GS only. The catch 22 is it's hard to ever use an awards seat for yourself while trying to make 1K in the same year (at least for me), so I usually end up using the miles to buy tickets for family. -
