I'm indifferent as to whether I pick or the girl picks. I have had good experiences with both. The thing I can't stand the most is if a girl or waitress comes and asks for a LD and I decline and then they come repeatedly asking for a LD. Even if I am sitting and talking with a girl already. jimmynewrider, i practically live off the street food vendors when i'm in thailand (grilled meats, fresh fruits, etc.) i actually miss it when back home. i've never gotten sick though, but then again it takes quite a bit to mess with the cast iron stomach. brushing with bottled water may be overkill. i have always used tap and nothing has happened to me. immodium is cheap, so bring a box with you if you're worried. cr

I'm heading from Bangkok to Pattaya on 8 Oct 07 if anyone wants to split a taxi. I plan on leaving around noon time after checking out of the hotel. And also back to Bangkok on 18 Oct 07 if anyone is heading back that way. cr

I'm a sucker for a big bowl of chinese hand pulled or hand cut noodles. Does anyone know of any in the Pattaya area? I've found a couple of good places in Chinatown in Bangkok, but haven't found any in Pattaya yet. cr

Last time I was in Pattaya, some of the exchange booths didn't take travelers checks at all, so I agree with the ATM card. I've was smart enought to keep enough baht from my last trip to last a couple of days so I wouldn't have to worry about the exchange booths at the airport. Older and wiser. cr

So far, I've stayed at, Majestic Suites (twice) Omni Suites, the Pelican on Soi 22 and this trip I will be staying at the Nana. I've always wanted to stay there, but it was full every other time I tried to book. All were guest friendly, and no problem bringing multiple ladies to your room.

I stayed here last year and I will be staying here again next month. Last time I was there they were still renovating the second floor rooms, so the noise was pretty bad in the mornings (I like to sleep in). Other than that, the hotel is great. I especially like the back entrance so you don't have to walk down soi 6 to get to your room. The food is good, Vic and staff are friendly. I'll see you next month. And yes, I did pay two nights up front. No big deal unless you don't plan on showing up.
