I'm assuming you are a newbie in as much you were leaving the booking of a hotel to your mates and you don't know what hotels are in the Soi 7/8 area otherwise you'd be booking them yourself. My recommendation to you is try and find a room in the Soi13 area. It's a nice Soi with no bars in it. This is very important because if you are a newbie as you'll inevitably bar fine the first girl you see as you exit your hotel and then be stalked by her for the remainder of your trip as you enter or exit your hotel.

Tuesday 21st October 2008 RightSaid's Welcome "Back In Black II" Party Having survived 4 weeks in Sydney where the weather is cold and the women are frigid. I'll soon be back in Pattaya where the weather is warm and the women are sizzling. What better way to celebrate than with a party? A party with a difference. In addition to the usual great Rock 'n' Roll music, sexy ladies, ice cold beers, and the best western buffet food in town. Throughout the night we'll be premiering songs from the latest AC/DC album, "BLACK ICE." An album being referred to by critics as "Back In Black II". A few of which will be given out as lucky door prizes! So if you are at a loose end, I hope you can make it down for what should be a great night out. Doors open 8pm.

Actually one of the reasons for the 2 - 3 hrs before (at least in Sydney) is to give you time to go through immigration and customs due to the increased security checks. Although, you may get preferential treatment at the check in counter. You usually aren't granted the same courtesy by customs/immigration. Also if you've ever sat on the tarmac waiting to taxi out, there's nothing more annoying for the plane having to wait because of those who cut it fine.

Not all airlines give you the option to select your seats when you book online. Personally, I'm surprised anyone would schedule their arrival time to the airport to be so close to the time when check in closes. I mean it's not as if it's a movie, it's your vacation, you miss the flight, your vacation's fucked.

I usually plan to get to the airport 3hrs before the scheduled departure. That way I can choose my seat and take my time in the airport without feeling rushed. More importantly it gives you a buffer if something goes wrong either on your way or at the airport, and believe me things do go wrong. I guess some people would say I'm over cautious, but guess what? I've never missed my plane!

Other than Bangkok, is there a place in Pattaya where I can buy a Trek 4500?

I'm gonna invest in an UV lamp for the bar so I can get a tan whilst I'm drinking. Hi Andy, Weather over here alternates between hot and cold, all on the same day.
