  1. In the stop about halfway to Pattaya that many of the drivers do (a street full of gasstations, restaurants and shops), there are two 7-11 shops. The last one of them are selling new AIS 1-2 Call sim cards. Never seen the shop at the new airport, but that would be my choise if I needed a new one. BTW my 1-2 Call sim card is now working back here in Norway... I have filled it up from here, and can receive text and calls (th Bahts are running out fast though). Can also do call out, but not sure how to send text. Tor
  2. They put it up a bit from 01 April I think, so it might not be much to save there anymore.
  3. Nice report Mats! Did you bring the mia, or did you have some real fun Tor
  4. I was in 508, and ever 2 minutes the air con vent very noisy for about 2 minutes, and then off again in a cycle. I managed to sleep with it on, but that is because I am a heavy drinker
  5. So I was obviously not the only one thinking the air con in Sandy Spring has become quite loud lately? In my room it was down right noisy And the TV reception isn't much to write home about.... Very veak signal. And have the dropped some channels? No football (English or Champion League), and no decent news channels anymore. Only the Fox News joke....
  6. Have to agree with Clubman for once, most of February and up till 19th this month when I left, there was quite a bit of noise in Sandy Spring from the site between Ma Masion and Golden Crab. This in the seaview rooms, I guess in the ones facing Soi 13 it must have been hell. They are using air preasure drills or whatever you call them, and they are damn load. Also last few days quite a bit of large machinery and sement trucks there. Maybe just a wild guess, but this will in not to long go to be just normal bulding noise and probably not be to bad, but it will probably last 3 to 5 month
  7. Same same, when they did the pile driving for Dynasty many moons ago, I lived at the old AA by Beach Road. Room facing the pool/sea. Now these two hotels are at the opposite end of that soi of each other, with many buildings between, and still the noise was a real hell. When the pile driving is beeing done, you'd better be far far away.... Now, could take another year before they start that though. I might start there, but I will be pretty quick to relocate if any noise.
  8. Damn, that would be a shame if the Vietienne restaurant disappears. One of my favourits.... :crying
  9. Tims on 2nd road, close to Soi 12 has jacquzi in some of the rooms....
  10. Cowboy: Why don't you just ask them to turn the mattress? Now, I do not know if this is possible at Residence Garden, but most Thai mattresses have a soft and a hard side.... Thais like the hard side as many are used to sleep directly on the floor back in their village.
  11. Yes Roland, please do bother! Much appreciated! In a city where things change by the hour, it is of little interest if it happened to be calm as a grave three weeks ago.....
  12. Not yet, but they might start doing that soon as they had a few no-shows. Which made problems for them. If you by any chance change your mind about the booking, be a sport and let them know in good time.
  13. Strange, as in early June they where driving down pillars in the ground with these large hammer like machines (sorry can't explain that any better...). The noise was to say it nicely, like hell. I might have some of that on video, if I can be bothered to look through the tapes... Well, could have been some preperation for later building work. No doubt that something will be built there sooner or later, even though the field is small.
  14. I stayed in a Seaview Delux room in May, and for almost a month, electric and water ended up at just under 3000 Baht. I stayed at 7th floor, and the noise the last days (start of June) was horrible to say it nicely... They even tried to charge me extra for not leaving the room before 1800 on the day for going home, although I had paid for a month and left 3 days before that month was up. That was sorted out though. When you pay for a month, you are supposed to bring your own towels by the way. Though, I did get hotel towels a few times. Cleaning only two times a week can also be fr
  15. That would be 3 then: 1. At Ma Maison 2. Next to Ma Maison (and Golden Crab) - This is the bad one, as they are driving down pilars in the ground 3. The condotel next to Dynasty
