SpicyMartin replied to MM's topic in General Discussion about Pattaya
I snagged the last 4 cans out of all 7-Eleven's on Khao Talor and Khao Noi about 2 weeks ago....... seriously pissed off coz I have a bottle Tanquerey and a bottle Bombay just standing in the cabinet, looking at me, taking the piss! Even tried it with Schweppes Manao Soda the other night........ way too sweet! Now if anyone's coming back from Cambodia and can bring a case of Schweppes Bitter Lemon...........?? -
Pattaya Vocational Beauty Schools
SpicyMartin replied to SpicyMartin's topic in General Discussion about Pattaya
Oh well, thanks for your reply...... I think! "Pastiness"...... please explain your use here as I just don't understand what the fuck you are talking about, but taking into account most other board members reactions to you then it's probably for the better. Me being paranoid? You don't know me and I have never, in my 22 years here, come across you so how on earth do you come to this conclusion? Or is it one of your usual sweeping generalizations that you seem to love using on those you perceive as lesser mortals who don't have the wisdom of your experience in Thailand. Pray tell. -
Has anyone else financed their missus through one of these schools or do you have a friend, tirac or wife who has done the course? Mine has just about finished this years course but we paid a wee bit more up front so she could return on the next course to catch up on bits she missed this year due to taking time off when I come back from an offshore stint, bike club tours etc etc.... not a problem. During the year there is the expected outlay for equipment she needed to have to carry on with new course agenda.... not a problem.... but the final "cough-up" fee is sticking in my craw: 5,5

The Funny Habits of a Thai live in......or wife...
SpicyMartin replied to jacko's topic in Expat Issues
Me, from afar, when away at work: "Have a nice day at school then hon, please ride safe and wear your crash helmet" Her: "Yes ok hon, thank you" Me: "Coz you know I don't want you to have accident and then I have to sleep alone" Her: "You can come sleep with me in hospital!" Cheeky mare's got an answer for everything! -
another bad experience with the Brits
SpicyMartin replied to peckerwood's topic in General Discussion about Pattaya
I think old Pecker has a valid point with some of his rants about the caliber of thug Good Old Blighty seems to be churning out these days, but please don't tar us all with the same brush old chap, there's a good man. Or........ am I just turning into a Grumpy Old Man? That must be it....... fun, isn't it!! -
Quite agree. I used to love watching Nijinsky.

Thanks Tom, I knew it was different for cars but I was sure bikes over 5 years need testing. Simon it only takes 5 minutes, maybe the guys over at the Registration place near Regents school are doing the test at the same time.... you don't get any certificate or anything. And no it's not new, I've been having to take my bikes to the test station on Sukhumvit for at least the last 8 years, if not 10.
-
Bloody hell! You slipped through a loophole then, and good luck to you! I am sure it's after 5 years a bike needs an "MOT" before they'll tax it..... cars are different, maybe 1 year younger or 1 year older. Nice to know there are still unscrupulous traders out there who cut corners for the mighty baht!

I take care of an Aussie mates bike which is registered in his name while he's away and do the tax, MOT and insurance for him anually.

Over 13 Years Experience Working In Thailand Managing Thai Staff
SpicyMartin replied to issanguy's topic in Expat Issues
To the guy who's pissed coz he just sold the love of his current life (coz he has to return home and therefore will not have any lbfm pussy for a few months) the OP is extremely well known to me....... and a lot of you futhermuckers out there too! Anyone remember who bought Papillon Go-Go and then started Spicy Girls and Spicy Girls Too Go-Go's with me? Give 'im a fuckin' break, he just may not be too familiar with Pattaya forum etiquette. Issanguy, I told you to introduce yourself.... I am British male, love Thai pussy and am looking for a job so I don't have to go home and have: -
Simon most of the vehicle insurance brokers will also do vehicle tax for you. I use Sri Thai Insurance Brokers on Sukhumvit. If the bike is over 5 years old (I think it's 5) you have to have it inspected, and the Vehicle Inspection Centre does road tax too. The garage is on Sukhumvit road on the left as you're heading north. Very easy to find, ride up to just before the new flyover for H/way 7 begins and it's the left there...... keep your eyes peeled for a wheel like logo signboard.

Yeah I hear what you're saying but I have my tax disc for my Yamaha in my wallet with the insurance slip..... this particular Yam is not one where you can lift the seat up easily and show 'em a tax disc underneath and I don't like to see a tax disc sticking out the side of my number plate or stuck to the machine somewhere! In point of fact I remember a Thai cop up Chiang Rai way being very impressed with the reg book pages being reduced and laminated and saying "good idea." But like I said..... it's an "if you can be bothered" kinda thing!
-
Coz 9 times out of 10 I don't even turn the engine off, let alone get off the thing! Police pull you over, you go straight for your wallet, show 'em license and copy reg, 9 times out of 10 plod is happy and appreciates you cooperating and waves you on with a "khob khun khrap" and a smile. It doesn't have to be confrontational or antagonistic.
-
If you can be bothered, make a reduced size copy of your bike/car registration book (and passport? I did) the same size as a credit card, laminate 'em and keep 'em in your wallet with your DL.

A good buy this one..... I do believe it's a US model (140+ bhp)..... the UK/Euro ones were restricted to 93 bhp. Damn, if I hadn't just bought and customised an XJR1200!!
