When I go, I take the noon ferry over and the 5 PM ferry back to Pattaya. I believe there are 2 ferrys that leave before noon and one that leaves after 5 PM. The cost is 20 baht per person each way. When you arrive at Koh Larn there are motorbike taxis drivers and baht bus drivers that will take you to a beach as there are none nearby. The baht bus guys charge 30 baht per person each way. There are around 6 beaches on the island so you find the guy that's going to the beach that you choose. I've only been to samae which is on the other side of the island. Ferry take about 40 minutes, get to the pier eary so that you can grab a seat on the upper level as the engine is located on the lower.

Mark I'm still trying to find a TG who works the checkout counter at Carrefour that gives happy endings. I came close a few months back when one told me, "No charge".

We don't have any room for your wife to visit because of the millions of illegal immigrants that are now residing in the US. Our California lawmakers are now busy trying to pass legislation to allow the illegals to get drivers licenses.

Check your airline's FF program partners. There are many ways to earn miles besides flying. If your with AA or UA and don't already have one of their credit cards, sign up and get 15K miles.
-
Don't know, but by the same token if the ticket was purchased with cash or a CC are you better off as the ticket would have been issued in her name.
-
I never said you don't pay them. In both cases you pay them an agreed upon amount.

Regarding the cheapest method of getting her over if you can resolve the visa issue, I would look into the possibility of flying her over on a free ticket using your FF miles if that is possible. For me when I buy a ticket it works out to 1.6 tickets when you factor in the FF miles. If the ticket was bought in her name, more than likely those miles would be lost and since she probably doesn't fly that often she earns the miles at a lower rate.

Like everything else, this can vary. At one end of the spectrum you have a TGF who doesn't work or has a non related sex job, who cooks for you , does the laundry and cleans your place. At the other end you have a TG who has all her stuff at your place and sleeps there when she doesn't have a customer. You shag her on the nights she doesn't have a customer or in the afternoon after she has left her last customer and before she heads to work. For you in this case, its strictly a good shag for cheaper price.

only when your itemized deductions exceed the standard deduction.

Mike are you there to shag or read? I'll be back over in about 2 weeks and ready for another visit to the White Knight but I don't want to visit any of those go-gos that you like in that area. Owen, I haven't made the move yet. I did make 6 trips to Pattaya this year totaling about 7 months. I'm a UA premier executive so I'm allowed 2 checked bags ( 70 lbs each) and 1 carryone so I'm bringing stuff over each trip. When I do get around to selling my house and moving over I'll still maintain a small condo that I'll leave some of my crap in that I don't want to sell. I'll still probably come back to the states once or twice a year and if in the future I decide I don't care to live in LOS I won't have to buy a place.

Those revenue streams better be tax exempt or the taxman will want his share. Also, as I've mentioned before, if your retireing in a foreign country you have no control over the exchange rate if your income is from your home country.
-
You'll probably want to tap into the principle at the beginning as you'll be shagging more BGs when your 65 than when your 85. When your 85 you'll probably get by on the interest or less.
-
Its not only retirement as most people have trouble with their lifestyle and living within their income before retirement at least in the US as shown by home foreclosures, automobile repossessions, defaults on credit cards and bankruptcies. I doubt you'll ever find someone who mirrors exactly how you want to live. Identifiing your costs and then pricing them out is not that difficult and its the most accurate. But as the saying goes in LOS, if you want to spend your time reading about what others spend, up to you.
-
Since there are numerous variables in determining what it cost to live anywhere such as purchasing a place in Pattaya can run from as low as $7,500 to $1,000,000 USD, reading numerous posts on what others spend and trying to determine if their lifestyle matches exactly what you desire could be endless. Wouldn't it be much easier to determine what lifestyle you desire and price it out? The questions one would then ask is how much each item cost if they didn't know and are there any secrets to getting it cheaper.

I agree that there is probably additional knowledge gained each time this question comes up although there is no correct answer to the question. But you would think that if the question has already been asked just four posts below, you would read that post, afterall the answers would not have changed much in the last few hours. At least wait until the topic goes to page 2. I think the topics started by the board members who are posting their actual living costs, like Soi 7 and Alan, are much more beneficial as it gives you an idea of what one can get by on based on how that person is living.

I'm scheduled to arrive on United out of Narita at 11:30 PM. Usually finished with immigration and customs by 11:50 PM. Anyone wanting to share the cost of a ride to Pattaya let me know.

There are many more variables. One can have as much sex as he can handle for 10k a month if he's happy with a live in TGF. If your not happy with only one partner, and once you lived there for awhile, you can build up a list of BG's cell phone numbers and from between 500-1000 baht you can have them over before work or after work. In this case your cost would be between 15K and 30K.

Doesn't have to be a 4 or 5 * hotel, I've seen 2 places near the LK Metropole where the rooms went for 8,000 and 9,000 baht per month that had the players.
-
Saw where Circuit City has one on sale for $25 after a $15 rebate.
-
could that be why its been over a year since your last visit?
-
Geoff, no problem. If you don't hear anything from me by the end of Jan shoot me a PM as my memory isn't as good as it was a few years back. I'm over there until the 24th of Feb.

As pointed out earlier your airfare will be higher in June than November, on the plus side this coming June the World cup will be taking place so you should have the company of many well behaved punters from Europe in town.

This must be a stealth hotel as I've stayed many nights on Soi Yensabai at the Koeing, White Rose and Marine Yensabai Mansions and have never noticed it. On top of that the last 6 months when I'm in town I do alot of walking with Soi 7 and we have walked this area many times. From the location description this hotel is at the back end of Soi Yensabai which would put it behind the Sunee Plaza or Boys Town for those not familiar. If I were there now I would check it out for you but I don't get back over until the 15th of Jan.

At first I was going to give you a hard time about not reading the board as I post dates on this board about getting together with other boardmembers on trips over to Koh Larn on the ferry. Then I noticed that your only registered and not a member so you don't have access to the members area, why not become a member? Anyway the island is about 2ks by 5ks at it widest part. The ferry departs from the new pier (far end of Walking St) about 6 times a day. When you arrive at the island there are motorbike taxis and baht buses there to take you to the beach of choice (about 6). I've only taken the baht buses and the cost is 30 baht each way, if your in a group you can get it for 250baht each way maybe lower if you want to haggle.
