Love his humor, I find it very funny. Others will find it offensive, who cares

You figure you can get the maximum of 22 shots per 70 cl bottle (1 ounce shot) JW Red is 499 Baht for a 70 cl bottle, so at 100 Baht/shot that is 2200 Baht 1 bottle of soda is 5 Baht at cost, a coke is about the same (you don't use the whole bottle per drink) Ice is very low as you buy it in a huge bag for 50 baht and of course you use as much as you can in a glass Probably have 30-35 Baht in a drink, now you have to add in many other costs (rent, utilities, employees and yes some graft) I'm not use to the farang system anymore, as the wife's family has a small place and does a Tha

Jacko The accidents in Kuwait were horrific and usually because of an excessive speed. It's the only place I have seen a car pass on the shoulder of the road at 120-150 KPH Usually the result is a cracked window, as of course rocks are thrown everywhere from this stupid driver. Some have been killed passing on the shoulder, as the sand piles can cause an accident easily. Very unsafe in Kuwait, but the roads are well maintained (well not all). To them it is a racetrack..

Not all do, therefore, you can get a measured pourer for a certain size ml shot But you can't stop a slick bartender unless you have eyes on and know most of the tricks You could easily double pour and tamper with any bottle. Honestly, if you want to make the drink look stronger, you make a "top heavy" Pour the mixer first and the booze on top.

Register your Thai Mobile Number or Lose it !
Greg_B replied to Fireman Sam's topic in General Discussion about Pattaya
teelack it is actually easy to understand If you bought the SIM off the street or from a vendor, it was probably not registered. If you went to AIS, True or happy, you had to show your passport (from what they say) Somehow as in 2005, they will require it to be registered. But if that is the case most would have already been done. In other words, you could go the extra mile and try, but expect frustration as no one really knows what is going on (as in 2005) So many Thai and farangs buy a SIM and don't register, how are they going to keep track of it...lol File where...????? -
MM, Kuwait was actually worse, as the "TCN" drivers from India are a real hazard Item 12 on this link... https://autos.yahoo.com/news/um-think-truck-overloaded-001400889.html

Driving is an issue, but simply follow the rules and you will not have any problems (maybe an accident or two) 1. It doesn't matter which side of the road you are on, if it is shorter to drive into the traffic and not with it, that is okay 2. Speed counts, get there as fast as you can, weave in/out of traffic and cutoff anyone who gets in your way 3. Red light doesn't matter, just flash your lights and speed through it, maybe honk your horn also 4. You need to turn, make your own turn lane, regardless of direction of traffic 5. In order to be certified in Thailand, you must be able to

Register your Thai Mobile Number or Lose it !
Greg_B replied to Fireman Sam's topic in General Discussion about Pattaya
Usually the main issue a farang has is keeping the his SIM active You go to 7-11, get 100 baht and it extends your date, that is the easy way But if you find one of those phone machines (usually right outside 7-11) and do 10 baht + a 3 Baht commission, you can extend it for up to one year Now, it may take 13 Baht x 12 times (maybe less). But it does extend the SIM expiration date. I'll take my chance on getting the number cutoff, as they talk big and never put the effort into such a project -
Most of the bottles in Thailand have the plastic insert near the top. This can be removed, but your risk breaking the neck of the bottle The reason it is there..? To stop people from putting in a cheap liquor and selling it in the expensive bottle. (JW Red and Black all have the inserts) I have noticed that even the Thai whiskeys (Blend 285 and Hong Thong ) are starting to go to this also But most Thai Bars sell it as they were in the old west...by the bottle I found this crazy, but after being here the last 17 months, it has become a normal thing They will watch the price of Blend

I'm basically ignorant on torrents, can someone educate me on how to use them...?
-
MyPay was a solution, but they said July 2014 was the target date for getting electric and water bills on there machines Of course TIT and it is probably never going to happen.
-
In BKK, you can also use Big C...It is a pain each month, but I have gotten use to it Water, True and electric can all be paid at one location

A "simple" Thai cleaning is one that is done every 4 months, as there cleanings do not compare to ones done in western countries. Usually it requires a 30-45 min visit and they set speed records when doing the cleaning here. I go because when I'm home, the dentist office is close to me, but the quality is on the low end for a cleaning Root canals and fillings are up to par and acceptable. Whitening is good, but you need a Dentist who will take his time and do it right, cheaper is not better on that procedure.

Idefix There are some restrictions that have exceptions also, you may want to get familiar with it, before assuming it is illegal

In the past, you could easily do back to back to back runs to Myanmar, no questions asked But if you plan to stay for an indefinite time period , you must get the right visa Most over 50 can do a retirement visa, as many a company will do the work for you for about 22,300 baht It is cheaper to do yourself, but some don't have the resources necessary to do the transaction If you have the correct visa, there is no issues or problems with Immigration

baht buses from jomtien to beach road
Greg_B replied to jay5678's topic in General Discussion about Pattaya
Didn't they start making the Baht buses have a "jomtien permit" to go that direction...? If so, your choices are limited when getting back -
Big Horn is okay, but remember it is a Steakhouse Meaning = the other things on the menu will disappoint you or your date (hamburger is terrible and I do mean terrible) Pepper sauce is good, the 1 kilo steak is huge, but not cheap Overall.....hit or miss, it's not something you plan on with high expectations

Do a google search on the run, as it has been done by some There is no visa for Myanmar on a border run, I got a stamp (Thai exit), then got into a van to travel 2.5 KM Crossed the border, came upon a small village and Myanmar immigration The company took the passports in, we waited 10 mins and loaded back into the van (entry/exit stamps from Myanmar) Down the road in the same van, for a 2.5 KM ride to Thai immigration.I got the entry stamp (30 days) Into the bus and back to BKK Just stamps, no visa like Cambodia

Kanchanaburi - Ban Phu Nam Ron

Paps Not that I know of, this company (English/Thai), seems to have the connections. The border time is about 45 mins total. Bus is big, A/C is cool, they do stop 1 time on each part of the trip (to/from) They do show a dvd each way to breakup the boredom. You could go to the airport, get the sky train to Phaya Thai (end of the line), transfer there to Ekkamai (84 Baht), walk down the steps and look for a Honda dealership as the meeting place is right beside it. Trying to get into/from Sukhumvit can be a real pain, so getting a taxi to/from the airport is easier for anyone coming
-
This is an easy run from BKK and does not require a whole page visa like Cambodia (just a normal entry/exit stamp) Downside = It is a long day as it leaves at 0930 and you are usually back to BKK about 2000 Bus is usually full, so you need to make a reservation before http://www.thaivisarun.com

Phuket has designated water zones for play, which Pattaya won't consider So there are many people who avoid this time of the year (I am one of them)

She could do it 12 times x 12 baht, it takes about 15 mins to complete it
-
Some of the SIM, have a valid date of 1-3 months and must be recharged Mine is one of those, I got it in 2007 (1-2 Call) I just did 12 Baht x 12 to get it till next April (good advice from a previous post and it does work)

Rainsberger PM me your phone number, I'll put 12 Baht on it for you to make sure you have it past May Not able to check it but I will be around a machine in the next week or so
