  1. wet willie, last time i stayed at pbr i took 2 girls back a couple of times and they smiled and took the id's and didn't enforce the extra girl joiner fee, this was about 15 months ago though. I'm staying at pbr from monday night onwards and i'll let you know if they are enforcing it or not.
  2. thankyou to everyone who replied to my request, i have now bookd pattaya bay resort again, who replied to my email within 2 minutes!!! if lk group have empty rooms then it's all down to their poor communication.
  3. despite trying on numerous occasions it seems the lk group have no intention of replying to any of my emails to various addresses including the "card". so has anyone got any idea of the walk up rates at these hotels at the moment or can you get the FLB rate if you mention whilst wanderring in off the street? I'm arriving in under 3 weeks and as it stands i'm sleeping on the beach! or should i just cut my losses and book at PBR again??
  4. considering the section this is posted in then my advice would be rent a cessna 172 from one of the aeroclubs around the pattaya area, buying your own aircraft, or especially your own airline would be too risky in todays market imho!
  5. about a year ago i decided to spend my last night in bkk and turned up at my usual haunt, the majestic grande and it was full. We ended up at the nana thai mansion as it seemed to be the only place on soi 4 which had rooms. Here's the deal, we were knackered and just checked in and they gave us a hideous, worn out room with a death trap cooker at one end of it. We called down and complained and were old they had other rooms for 200 baht more.... these rooms were ok, nothing special but ok. So i think the moral of the story is to stay somewhere else, but if you MUST stay here pay the e
  6. Circus Circus???? excalibur???? flamingo??? for fucks sake. None of these would get close to the top 12 in vegas...and why a top 12?? This thread is catpiss.
  7. this may be controversial but i find a mere half tablet of flunitrazepam (rohypnol) is brilliant for sleeping on a plane...no metallic taste like zopiclone, no headache's like valium...just sleep and a clear head afterwards...lots of bad press oviously about the drug, but if used correctly and not often i find it to be brilliant.
  8. stingers absolutely correct, no monthly rates for suites.. sorry for the misinformation.
  9. pattaya bay resort... just round the corner.. not as swanky as the metropole though but free wireless or wired broadband...really helpful by email aswell... reckon you could cut a good deal there. (no i'm not affiliated to it!!!) http://www.pattayabayresort.com (not really a resort either!)
  10. Top Cat, it's emirates which starts from NCL in september, i believe you can get a rtn seat for 481 quid and you definately change in dubai.
  11. uk pound sterling now at 66.2 bht , good news after the recent plummet of pound against baht, would be nice to see 70bht to the pound again soon!
  12. whilst in courtney airsavers yesterday trying to piece together a cheapo flight for feb11th returning 28th, I discovered that Emirates are starting a newcastle to dubai direct service in September 2007. Got to be good news for north easterners going to LOS I would have thought. anyhow, best I can get for my dates is £439 qatar ex gatwick with bad layovers both ways.. can anyone help me??? I`ll fly from bloody anywhere!!!
  13. CNN international have a feature on BKKs new airport in their business traveller programme this week. Talented weirdo Richard Quest will be having a schmooze around and then the unlucky sod has to go to Phi Phi instead of patts. Just thought I`d let you aerophiles know!! six weeks to go...six weeks to go.... thats for me not the airport!
  14. china air dangerous....YAWN..Yawn....zzzzzzzzzz the year is 2006 thaibanger. the service is great, the only problem with china biz class is there is no flat bed..but what do you expect for the price?? I always fly china biz ams-bkk and have never had anything other than a great flight. don`t know about cattle but china biz pisses on eva delux and it`s about a hundred quid more. furthermore I believe skytrax rate CI as a four star airline which is good enough for me.
  15. I like this game. can I have a go!!! 1.Emirates 2.China Airlines 3.BMI 4.Eva 5.British Airways 6.Thai 7.American Airlines 8.United minus several million.... Delta.
  16. courtney airsavers in Saville Row Newcastle are also a good bet... if memory serves me well I think the price has just gone up. was 799 quid but I think it`s gone up by about 90 quid, could be wrong though. as an aside, I`m kind of hoping BMI will consider a service soon. they`re expanding like theres no tomorrow, and their direct service from Manchester to Las Vegas is great... distance must be about the same.
  17. 744 = 747-400 I always use CI`s dynasty class upgrade, it`s a full business service including lounges at AMS and BKK. the staff are really fit!!! and I reckon it`s hard to beat for value... book it!!
  18. it`s a fair way out of the action and is deffo NOT guest friendly. I would personally recommend the majestic grande, which although at about 38 quid is a little more, is on suk soi 2 right in the centre of things, is most certainly guest friendly and is brand spanking new!! website below. http://www.majesticgrande.com . besty.
  19. I have stayed at the asia on my first trip to pattaya. It`s a god awful hotel, scummy, shit service, the rooms have pre historic tv`s and decor. yeah the swim up bar is ok, but thats all. stay anywhere else but here...it`s cheap for a reason... and it`s definately NOT guest friendly either.... rubbish rubbish hotel... looks nice in the photo`s but it isnt. asia bkk is ok for the price but not pty. I presume it is the Asia you meant and not the mythical Aisa.
  20. you could stay at intercontinental group hotels. ie holiday inn, crowne plaza and intercontinental. 500miles per stay. you can enroll here: http://www.priorityclub.com take miles instead of points and choose china air. bizarrely enough I`m on 97,000 miles. strange world eh!
  21. just enquired about staying at the marriott pattaya in two weeks time with res24.org and they emailed me to say that they have a whopping 1000bht per guest per night joiner fee. I was under the impression that the marriott was the only "luxury" hotel in pty which is guest friendly with no joiner fee. could anyone shed any light on this as they can fuck off if they think theyre charging that much!!! if it`s guest friendly then I`m booking it. thanks in advance guys.
  22. I have flown china dynasty class three times and about to go again on May 8th. I don`t understand why people compare China Dynasty with Eva`s evergreen deluxe. Dynasty is a business service even when booked as an upgrade (799 quid) with the exception that yu get economy baggage allowance (although priority clearance), and you only get econ FF miles. Apart from that it is a full on business service..including food, lounge access at AMS and BKK, free laurent perrier champagne!!! ok so the seats aren`t flat beds like some other airlines but the price isn`t 2 grand either! As far as can wo
  23. I just take sterling cash and get it changed at Don muang apt. the rate always seems about a baht better than it pattaya. if your hotel has a in room safe or safety deposit box then all should be well and it saves fucking around. whenever I`ve used the atm the rate seems 2-3 baht down on the rate at Don Muang. and every little helps.
  24. hey there mackem!!! great to have a local sanukker here!! I always use china airlines business from ncl at 799 quid I think it`s great, I`m the dj at baja in newcastle, if you fancy popping in sometime some note comparing would be much fun!!! and youre right klm are wank!!!
