Giving loads of s/hand clothes to room cleaner
Myrrh replied to benny27's topic in General Discussion about Pattaya
Why don't you just give them in to be launder at any Pattaya laundry...the chances are they won't come back. -
Is this before or after they have been 'recycled' by the passengers?...

Ricky's 61st Birthday Party
Myrrh replied to sinkorswim's topic in Bars/Gogos/Business Owners' Forum
Ricky is indeed one of my favourite managers in Pattaya. In many bars you go in you are just not aware that there is a manager there at all. He is normally the one spending his time drinking himself into oblivion and you will assume that he is just another customer. Not Ricky. He spends his time walking round checking that everyone is OK and greeting everyone with warmth, humour and natural good charm. I remember on one occasion when I and my party spent quite a lot of money in Baby Dolls on Sangsom and coke. One of us got so into things that he donned one of the girl's outfits and da -
No, I am not really disputing your times but just quibbling that it is closer to 13 hours rather than 14...so no big deal anyway. I flew twice with Gulf Air - the first time through Bahrain and second through Muscat. All the airports, with the exception of Abu Dhabi I found particulary soul destroying. After an hour in Doha you start running out of things to do or see and Muscat is so small that it is difficult to find any spare seats and there are no decent places to eat - a 5 hour stopover there would be the equivalent of a prison sentence!

Because hotel owners who put these things in usual use that as an excuse to double the price of the room - but people are not willing to pay a premium for cheap add ons which will fall apart when you try to use them. Also, with light fingered Thai girls visiting your room, hotel guests are going to be finding that they are paying through the nose for the replacement of objects that seem to have 'walked' out of the room. Guys have enough problems trying to keep an eye on their own stuff.

When I flew with Gulf Air, I went via Muscat in the ME and it was 7.5 hours to Muscat but only 6 hours plus about 10 minutes from Muscat to Bangkok

My luggage was broken into during the stop over on one of Gulf Air's flights and a valuable item stolen. I got no compensation from Gulf Air. I was also bumped off another flight of theres, even though I arrived in time for the flight. Meant that I missed a whole day in Thailand. So never again! I have flown Jet Air for internal flights in India and that has put me off going international with them. Poor food and lots of smelly passengers.

Pattaya Beer Garden - New Video and blurb
Myrrh replied to PattayaPete's topic in Bars/Gogos/Business Owners' Forum
Just wondering whether from talking to the freelancers that you have worked out where they used to hang out before they started coming to the PBG. Was it Beach road, Walking street bars, etc? -
One good tip if you have a long wait between flights at one of the Arab airports, and you are not eligible to use the lounge, is to head to one of the prayer rooms. They are in actual fact 'quiet' rooms and no praying actually takes place there, unless it is silently. They are just darkened rooms with about a dozen reclining chairs. If you can bag one of them then you can get a bit of shut eye for a couple of hours.
