  2. If you are planning up taking a laptop to LOS be sure to get a hotel with an in room safe which will fit the laptop...wouldn't want it to wander off.. Flipper House and Flipper Lodge do not have in room safes.. The lockboxes you can get at checkin will not fit a laptop either.. Just trying to help you plan..
  3. I have 200k miles on UAL and they keep growing, because whenever I've wanted to use them to fly to the LOS they have no seats available for use as such.. I'm probably going to use them to fly to latin america or something, because United is hard to use ff miles on flying to LOS. One use I have found though is to use them flying from BBK to Manila, usually can get space on Lufthansa using the ffmiles..
  4. I've never had a laptop in the LOS and needed to login as such... however, I have used the machines at the Flipper Lodge.. Basically downstairs there is a small internet cafe attached to the lobby... In this cafe are about 6 PCs and each has limited privacy.. Never heard anything about a fast internet connection in room... I'd look for another hotel for this.
  5. I've gotten good rates on www.justfares.com Best to call them if you want fast results..
  6. Okay...LOL...get this.. At Flipper Lodge they've got a deal, stay for 7 nights and pay for 5 nights. Also, stay for 5 nights and pay for 4 nights... I emailed them and asked for a total of 12 nights... a 7 night stay and a 5 night stay and asked them if I could pay for 9 nights total.. They mailed me back saying that they'd give me the first 7 nights at the cost of 5 nights, but the other 5 nights were full price.. Don't think it'd work to try logic hunh?
  7. Just checked my schedule, I arrive in BKK airport 11 am on Dec 12th...not late like I thought.. Wanna split a taxi??

  16. In Cobra Gold last year I saw 6 marines renting a room at Eastinny all together, having fun on Soi 8... guess that's economical hunh ;D Cobra gold is April-May yearly....
  17. There is Diabetic information, in Pattaya at the website: http://www.pattayaexpatsclub.com/ look down the page and you can submitt questions at their messageboard... Best of luck! Shane
  18. Check the Flipper guest house on Soi 8....in the middle of the action... 800 baht...nice place..
  19. Hi Guys, Thought I'd share how to get cheap travelers cheques, which get the best exchange rate in the LOS.. Join AAA, it will cost you $45 a year to be a member.. And being a member you do not pay the 1% charge to get travelers checks... I spend about 8-10k a year on travelers checks and being a member saves me the $80-100.. (of course though there is the $45 yearly membership fee..) If you are a member of GNC health store there is a $10 discount on the $45 AAA membership also.. One other thing is when you get travelers checks get the $500 denomination.. There is a 50 baht or so charge for each check cashed.. If you were to get $100 travelers checks you're taking roughly a 1% hit with each cashing of the checks.. You usually have to call ahead and let them know that you will be wanting the $500 travelers checks though.. Hope this helps save your much needed beer and hooker money... ;D
